  1. Obviously not, because I don't have access to the machinery and technology they do, just like with any manufactured product.
  2. It's actually not that bad because of all the machines and computers doing most of the work.
  3. Wow, those are some nice paint jobs! Really smooth and shiney.
  4. Thank you all for the kind comments.
  5. If you haven't already, get some .060 x .156 strip styrene, it's the perfect size for building a frame. It's lookin good so far, keep it up.
  6. Agreed, life constantly gets in the way of my model building.
  7. That's pretty cool, I'm gonna have to try something like that when I finally start my diorama. Thanks for the how-to.
  8. There's some sort of cleaner called "Purple Power" that people use to strip paint. I've never used it, but many swear by the stuff.
  9. His post was just a jumble of letters, it's annoying to try and decipher what he wrote. I'm sure many people would agree with me.
  10. I'm ashamed to be considered part of the "playstation generation" when I see things like this. I do like to play video games occasionally, but I've never really been one for "instant gratification". I've always liked making my own things rather than buying them and I respect others, that's just how I was raised. Many parents these days are ill-equipped to raise children, which results in bratty kids who have no respect.
  11. This is gonna be a monster... I like it! Please use punctuation, it's hard to understand what you're saying.
  12. The wheels I'm using are only 18's, so it's pretty easy. I still had to cut out the inner fenders and part of the bed like this truck here.
  13. Looks like a nice idea, I'll be watching this for sure. This is similar to what I'm doing with an S10, so I might be able to help with any suspension issues.
  14. I have about 10 WIP's right now but many more on the way. I try to only work on one at a time but I will occasionally do more if I get bored with one.
  15. You, sir, are crazy. I would never dream of working with those little wires. I think I would be interested in seeing the progress photos. What gauge wire did you use in there?
  16. This is a neat little trick, simple yet effective.
  17. Thanks, I was searching under "Models and Kits" where I usually find my model stuff.
  18. I can't seem to find any of these Revell Parts Pack turbine engines on Ebay.
  19. That's a beautiful Trabant... Never thought I would say that in my life.
  20. I only have about 10 or 15 kits at the moment. I have hundreds of models that I want to build but the kits get expensive and I have other things to spend money on. Most of that goes to my actual car, the "money pit".
  21. The only way I would buy a built kit is if it was cheap or a rare kit. Otherwise, I don't see any use for it. As for taking apart the model, I've heard freezing it will weaken the glue. Most built-ups have weak glue bonds in the first place, but if not a razor blade will help separate parts.
  22. Haha, that's the spittin' image of my Honcho. And the rims on it are the stock Jeep Honcho rims.
