Weathered models, beaters, and wrecks.

Realy good builts - i like weathering on cars too. There are different sorts in my collections to, and i most try new methodes for it. For example, my favorite this time, because its my newest i built in june this year: another one last year, it only has a little trackdirt on the front of the hood and behind the wheels: my favorite Wrecker: and the Vicci, they want to pick up. This car i built about for Years ago: at last a Riviera with mud and dust I'm trying often, to make the weathering better and closer to original look. Hold on... -
Nice Built! This Kit is also waiting to be build on my bench. Like it - most i like the wired engine and the antenna ball - nice detail

Weathered 64 Chevy C10
Dominik replied to BigEdsGarage's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Hallo Ed, your pick up looks great! Looks like, that the whole body is weathered with rusty dust. Very cool. I like this Pickup also stock. The only point, that i dont like is the uniform satin "gloss". - only my opinion! I think, thats the result of taking hairspray, you wrote? Had you finished the work with it to seal it? -
Hi Michael, what kind of "Purple Pond is this, to remove chrome? Is it working for paint too?
-
Hi Allen, you built the Death Proof Nova very fast! For my own too fast, because your rollcage mismatch with the example moviecar you've posted. There is a part of the cage in the middle of the car, on the passengers Door are only two diagonal strive, mounted near the chassis. How could the passenger get into the car when the door open? Another point is, there is a massive rollcage "over the head" from driver/passenger with a cross in the back of the seat. This part i am missing completly... The problem is, if you built a car like this (similar to racecars), you must search for all informations and pictures you can get. Its one of the hardest builts in our hobby, to come as close to the original as you can. Last, a tip for decals on flat paints: First i paint the car highgloss. then fix the decals on and finaly, i paint the body with flat clearcoat. this type, you have no silvering of the decals.

love it! awsome bug!

very clean builtup! Looks perfect with color and trim.

Good Job Chris. I like the details in your engine but most the shifter. But, one thing i have to criticize: the turbo. i think, the silver on the right pipe in the pictrue goes from the turbo behind the bumper to the intake on the left side of the engine? I am missing the aircleaner on the right - that hole, that you see, when you look on the turbo. Sure, it will work - but not a long time without a aircleaner

Looks great! Nice Built and a very nice engine. I built the same and it was horrible - had no luck with it. So, your GTX has a good finish

Hi everybody, today i would like to show you another part of my collection. It is based on the Hasegawa Kit and on this built i tested weathering with salt before making the paintjob. The diorama is called "Horst - no dumping garbage" - whats the story behind? You see all the stuff on the load area? Horst (the Bullies Name) removed the fence with bolt cutters, sawed the sign with the chainsaw to - all to unlaod the debris. The Bolt cutter and chainsaw is scratchbuilt, also the bottle and heat on the frontseat. Have fun with the pictures

Very nice paintjob Tom! Well Done! I like the styling of the roof. Only the fat wheels on the back is not my tatse. For my own, i would make it lower to ground

Oha, thank you very much for your words, thanks for answer my questions! I love this 58 Chevys too! If i could have the chance, "only" 3500$ to buy one - i would make it. But, thats the truth, in germany this car is more rare then a Dodge Viper. in my lifetime, i almost saw with my own eyes not more than three HT Coupe Impalas...very rare and expensive. The next ones i will build on this base is the DelRay and Brookwood. Perhaps a Convertible ( ) too...dont know, what manufactrues the bodys are - you must take, what you get here...
-
thats a really cool built you're making! Great job till yet. i will take a look over your shoulder.

Very nice Brookwood! Well done!

Hi, my first try, to post a model, also my first work with resinbody. Based on a 58 Impala kit from amt. I love this car, its my favorite of all 50s. I wish, i could call one my own... I only took the engine (not wired, oob), floor, dashboard, frontseats and doorpanels from the amt kit. The resinbody is manifactured by bandit resins (think so). There was a lot of work to fi the hood and interieur...After sanding, coating filler and do the Two-Tone paintjob, i made the finish with barematalfoil. that was tricky too, because there were not enough lines to orient themselves for the trim i wished. After four hours it was done. But enough words, take a look: How many pictures are allowed? Pleas tell me - i'm just learning Thank you for your attention, comments welcome.

Thank you very much for your "welcome" words - Thank you! my companie has a partnership with the US army in Bamberg. I love it! we make lot of events and when i talk to them, most say, that they wil stay here too. Thats interesting for me. If i could, i would stay in the States... Sure, i will post some models from time to time. I'm just looking, how it works here. To load images...all new for me... A test to load a image from a model... Iit works! What is the maximum allowed size for pictures?

Hallo everybody, i dont know, if i am right here for introduce myself here in "General"-Topic? If not - rookiefault. My name ist Dominik and i am living near Wuerzburg at the river called main. Going stright ahead up to my 40th birthday and found back to modeling last year, when i was sick. what i am building? I love the american cars! Specially the 60s and 70s i am working on. If a model is telling a story, i build them a dioramabase too. My collection of meodelcars are about 150 built, 25 unbuilt kits and about 20 Dioramas. Most of the models are older builts, wich i restore from time to time. i hope, i can give some ideas to you and be a oart of this forum. why i choose this one? Now, i was just looking "overseas" at more boards, but i think, this one is one of the populare board and i also think, there is more going like in other ones. At last, one words to myself again: i hope, my writing is not so bad, that you can't follow my words. thats another point, i signed in: to teach your speach for a good partnership. Thats it. looking forward for anything that will come up - to be a part of you. Kind regards, Dominik Edit: forgot something important. I am a soldier in the german army since 1992 and i am "profi" - that means, i get retired in 2027.
