Replica of: Artist Mike Lomaka`s "ITALIVETTE" drawing
brodie_83 replied to John Teresi's topic in Model Cars
This build I found most impressive...while not everything is in my taste (and nobody needs to be satisfied with everything but the builder), everything was executed beautifully! The paint is gorgeous and I absolutely LOVE the large and wide exhaust tip! I have no doubt your Buick GSX will be just as nice...even if it does have a Mopar engine -
I like it! Nice scratch build work on the turbos!
-
I'm going to build one of these someday. I love the early 70's Skyline GT-R!
-
2 things I love...'70 Super Bees and B5 blue paint!
-
At first glance, I didn't like the color combo...now I kinda digg it! Great job! I like the interior.
-
Wow, that interior is bright! Nice build

Looks like a Pepsi bike. LoL looks nice!

Thanks guys! I already removed the shifter and am looking for a different one through my junk boxes. I know I have a few different shifters. I just parted out about 5 kits that either I screwed up badly and never finished them, or I lost parts and never finished them. LoL -
FULL BUILD REVIEW: 1/12 Revell Shelby Mustang GT500

Ah, I see. Well glad you would have done it otherwise if you hadn't been instructed to build it box-stock. Even box stock though, you're doing a fantastic job on this build review! Lots of great details! -

Here's a few shots of the 2JZ I might be swapping into my next Celica XX kit: -

Thanks man! Appreciate all of the comments! Tonight I got a lot of great progress done in the interior....very close to having it complete! I got the dash done, shifter installed (not very happy with how it looks though...very "blah"), front seats glued in, and the rear seat painted and flocked! All I need to do now is paint the steering column and wheel, install them, glue in the rear seat and glue in the dash. Then I can move onto something else...not sure what though. Here's tonight's progress pics: -
No, he didn't say he's putting in a Hemi...he's putting in a 440 Six Pack. I was just comparing the Buick 455 to a Hemi because they were very similar performing engines, and even though the 440 was quicker than the Hemi, the 426 was a much more powerful engine. Sorry to throw your thread off track. The progress is looking good, and I love the exhaust outlets in the bumper! I agree with Keef though...the 455 looks excellent in there! I love the Ram Air induction setup on those 455's!

I am very curious as to where this build is going...and FYI, the GSX 455 is one of the most powerful engines that GM ever produced with more torque than the 426 Hemi. I love Mopars as well, but the GSX could honestly wax most of 'em.

And for the driver's side door/rear panel, I used Tamiya masking tape (fineline) and WOW it worked great! I used it on the top of the door/rear panel insert and on the back and bottom of the rear panel insert so I didn't have to try super hard to have steady hands. Look how straight it looks! Tomorrow I'm going to Olive Garden with my girlfriend and another co-worker, but after I get back, I'll probably work on the seat inserts and more of the dash. Stay tuned and thanks for looking! -

Alright, I didn't get as far as I'd like to, but I have other things I need to do tonight. I got the dash/front seats painted in Charcoal Gray, detailed the vents and a few little other things on the dash (far from done...) and mocked everything up for fitment. I gotta say...I'm excited! -
Looks good! Let's see some more!

What do you think of this ZR1 roadster?
brodie_83 replied to Sport Suburban's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks like you painted some blue and red on a resin cast body. LoL waiting for more details before I say anything more... -
You can't seriously be putting a Mopar 440 Six Pack in a GSX...

brodie_83 replied to brodie_83's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I didn't have the willpower to do anything on the model lastnight (got home late from running around with the roommate) so I started right away tonight after I got home from work. I bodywork'd the seats and dash and put 3 coats of the Charcoal Gray on 'em. I also finished the driver's side light gray on the door/side panel and blacked out the door handle and window/lock switches. After the paint dries on the seats and dash, I may put one more coat on them, then I'll start detailing the dash. Pics will be up later. -
Who makes the finest flocking?

I went to my local Michael's and they said they have no such thing as flocking...wtf? -

Thanks! I'm gonna start on the front seats tonight when I get back from grocery shopping and maybe get some paint on 'em. We'll see... -
FULL BUILD REVIEW: 1/12 Revell Shelby Mustang GT500
brodie_83 replied to David Thibodeau's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Too bad you didn't flock the interior and do seat belts like you had mentioned someone should do. Everything else looks top-notch! The engine is unbelievable! Great job on this awesome kit! -
I bought a little container of Ken's Kustom Fuzzy Fur and don't get me wrong, I like the stuff. It's good for carpeting...but I want to get some flocking to do seats to make them look like cloth, and Ken's flocking isn't fine enough for upholstery. Anyone know of something? Thanks!

I personally think it looks really cool! I've never seen something like it, so it's definitely unique and different, but I think you did a fantastic job. I like the blingy wheels on it...keep building!
