  1. This is a build for an up coming Model Car Club contest. I only build 1 truck a year for this event. Let me know how it looks and if it needs anything. Your opinion is great appreciated. Thank you for looking. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  2. Thank you.I only used Tamiya rattle cans on this one. I quick dry with a floor heater and then a a fan, this accelerate the drying time to 2 minutes. Al
  3. Thanks everyone. Ok, you want to know how I get my paint to dry so fast. 1st, I only use Tamiya, Testors Lacquers or Dupli-color rattle cans. 2nd, I use a floor heater right after I finish the primer coat, then color coat and then the Wet Look Clear. After the final 30 seconds for the clear I take it over to my floor fan for a minute. Wait a 15 minutes and polish it out with Novis #2. The total paint and polish, takes about 30 minutes. I've been doing this procedure for 10 years with excellent results. Hope this helps. Al Heater Hosted on Fotki Fan Hosted on Fotki
  4. Rick, I didn't know that either. This was an open kit I bought off eBay and there was parts and instructions missing.
  5. Thanks guys. I got the paint at Pep Boys. Great color!!!
  6. I started this one at 8 am this morning. I painted it Dupli-color Bahama Blue Met. with Testors Wet Look Clear top coat. The interior was painted Tamiya Primer White with black carpeting. RWL tire's are from an AMT Parts Pak. This based on Monogram's 1/24 kit. Thanks for looking. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  7. I joined a 24 hour build off on Facebook Saturday at noon and in my classic style, I finish mine in 5 1/2 hours. I know there are a few things that have to be fixed, the grill and the side view mirror. But all and all I'm pretty please with the end results. Painted Tamiya Bright Red with Semi Gloss Black interior. The strips are from Firebird Designs and the tires are AMT redlines from their parts pak.. 9. I started on this one this afternoon. I primed, painted in Dupli-color Bright Aqua Mist, Wet Look Cleared, BMF, tinted the glass and refinished the interior, all since 3:00 this afternoon. How does it look so far. Thanks Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  10. Bob, make sure you spray very light coats. I use a piece of white paper to judge the tint between coats. I found 4 or 5 coats are perfect. Al
  11. Everyone thank you for the nice comments. Now that I found the problem areas, I'll be building another. Al
  12. I did have any trouble with the wheels, but the window are another story. There isn't any sure fit on the glass and ended up screwing the outer edges with glue. There is also no holes for the muffler, so mounted the exhaust is a real pain.
  13. Here's my finished 61 Pontiac. It's a Beautiful Kit!!! Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  14. That's OK Harry. I still love you.
  15. Thanks Harry. I try to do mirrors, but I have that MS thing and have trouble keeping my hands still. Al
  16. I got this the day after Christmas and enjoyed every minute of this build. Painted Tamiya Black with a Tri-color Red & White interior. Thanks for looking. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  17. It's done. Nice kit, I only found a couple of problems. The glass, which I already mentioned and the exhaust, there isn't a mounting hole on the floor board under the muffler. Mounting the exhaust is difficult with out the mounting hole. Thanks for following. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  18. Interior is done. The interior bucket fits perfect at the top doors. I chose the bench seat, but bucket seats are an option. I used white electric tape for the white set inserts and dark Merlot for the other insert. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  19. A little update. Chassis is done and I did a test fit of the body to check out the stance. The stance looks great to me. Thanks for following. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  20. Thanks everyone. I had a lot of fun building this one. I wish Revell/Monogram would reissue more of these. Al
  21. This came the day after Christmas and I love it. I painted it Tamiya black and going to do the interior in Tri-color red and white. The wheels are fantastic 4 piece replicas.I Alclad mine with aluminium to give it contrast to the trim ring and center cap. The glass is strange, the trim is only on the top and the sides, the bottom trim is on the body. Thanks for looking Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
