I not a big fan of the 53 Ford Pickup, I'm more of a 56 guy myself. The contest is for the AMT 53, so I'll make due. I painted this with Dupli-color's Candy Apple Red and Grey Frost & Silver tape stripe for a separation line. The wheels and tires are "Z" wheels by Steven Zimmerman. Thanks for looking. Al

I bought this about 4 years ago and just couldn't get into it. The kit is excellent, so it was just me. Well today I sat down and just worked on it until it was done. It's painted Tamiya Italian Red with black interior. The Magnum 500 wheels are from The Modelhaus and the tires are from AMT parts pack. I know there aren't any mirrors, I'm totally out of them. I added the decals, black washed the wheels, sanded the tires and painted the front bumper to look like aluminium. The parachute is on it way. How does it look? Thanks Al

I want to thanks everyone for the nice comments and reference photo's. I just have some minor details, like mirrors, antenna and a new windshield from the Modelhaus. I didn't realize it was broken until final assembly. Thanks again, Al

The fit is excellent. I did file the kits hood a little to get it to fit better. I used the windshield from the 70 Monte Carlo, but there's got to be a better alternative,

Steven, I can't find a clear picture of the wheel covers. Is the center black or red?

Just Started another one. This time an AMT 59 Mercury Convertible. After 24 hours in Purple Power, I primed it with Tamiya Grey Primer and then 4 coats of of Testors Flame Red and Tamiya Gloss Black in the coves. I finished it off with 3 coats of Testors Wet Look Clear. I'm not sure if I want red or black or a 2 tone interior. Any suggestion on the interior are greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. Al

This all started life as an eBay Gluebomb. I call this one a labor of love. After 1 week in Purple Power and 9 different colors of brush paint stripped and all the chrome redone with Alclad. I''m pretty happy with the outcome. The only new parts used were new tires and MV's for the headlights. How's it look??? Al

Chrome is done and the window tint and interior are drying. I should be able to finish it later today.

I primed it and painted it this morning. No clear coat yet.

I did restored mine as a replica stock. After taking other guys who collect Lincolns models, the hardtop is a very rare promo. Hope this helps. Al

This the excellent resin transkit by Missing Link, that uses Revell's 72 442 convertible as a donor kit. I painted this one in Dupli-color Dark Toreador Red and 4 coats of Testors Wet Look Clear and the was finished in Tamiya's Semi Gloss Black. I tinted the glass with 3 very light coats of Tamiya's Clear Blue. I added AMT's RWL tires from a parts pack. Thanks for looking. Al
