  1. I recently bought the lamp Harry recommended and have been very pleased. I often have to move it close to my work but that is more of a comment on my eyesight than the lamp's efficiency. I also like the magnifying glass - something I didn't have before.
  2. Finished this guy over the holidays but had to wait until recently to paint. Chassis is the roadster from Revell's Tony Nancy 22JR double kit and the engine base is from the Revell 41 Willys. Body is Competition Resins. Thanks for looking, KB
  3. Great job! I really like weathering of the engine and chute.
  4. Very nice. And some of my favorite subject matter too! How did you do the spark plug boots? They look great.
  5. Absolutely beautiful! The grill work is something. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I picked up a package of AMT/Round 2 M&H drag slicks 4-pack recently but I am having trouble finding wheels that will fit. The inner diameter of the tires is relatively small (sorry, I don't have the actual dimentsions) and despite a large collection of unused wheels, I haven't found any that fit. Has anybody used these slicks yet and can you recommend any wheels that fit? Thanks in advance, KB
  7. Very nice build. Very clean. I love the old drag cars! Would like to hear more about the build.

Andy, I've been checking out your recent posts and rather than respond to them all, I'll just say this: Beautiful models - all of them. I really like your building style - very clean and just the right amount of detail. Looking forward to seeing more. KB
  9. Sweet ride! I really like the paint job/color scheme.
  10. I've got to stop frequenting this forum. It makes me feel so inadequate. (Plus, my boss would prefer I stick to my job.)
  11. John, your work is truely unbelievable! I'm at a loss for words. I too think an album (or museum) is in order. I attended the NNL West a few times (2003-05) when I lived in the area and I'm dying to get back. Will you be there next month? Because if yes, I've got the best reason yet to make the trek. Thanks for sharing and keep 'em coming! KB
  12. Wow. That is a really beautiful ride Jeff. Love it. Like the write-up too. May have to do a model based on it... Thanks for sharing. KB
  13. Thanks very much guys. I'll check all these out. KB
  14. I recently resumed modeling after a five year layoff. Today I learned that one of my favorite aftermarket items, Detail Master machined aluminum rims, is no longer in production. These are the aluminum rims made to except resin inserts such as those sold by Replicas and Minitures. Can anyone offer a viable substitute? Thanks in advance, KB .
  15. Wow! A lot of new material since I last looked. What a great thread. Great models everybody! Now I'm going to have to work the weekend for all the time I've lost looking at these models.

    Funny Bug

I love it. Very nice. How difficult was it to remove the foil after painting? I've been meaning to try this but I was worried it might be difficult to remove the foil. Thanks for sharing. KB
  17. Looks flippin' great Wayne! Thanks for sharing. Nice photos too.
  18. Very sad news. If KB doesn't get enough sponsorship, who can? At the same time, I agree in part with Psychographic. As the cars became more and more technical and less identifiable, they became much less interesting (also much more difficult to replicate in a model)! I live near Bandimere Speedway and used to live near Infinion (Sears Point). Both have been hosting at least one major NHRA event for years. Over the years, these events have become the least interesting and most expensive to attend. Long live the sportsman's classes and nostalgia racing!
  19. Cool graphics and I really like the grill. Nice touch!
  20. What a cool idea! I too enjoy watching the Mecum auctions. Maybe you could tell us how you made your backdrop? Thanks, KB
  21. Those are two very cool looking cars! I also could not care less of their location, they would make great model subjects.
  22. I probably should have posted these in another thread but since most of my work is found in the previous posts, I decided to keep this this thread alive. I started the Landy Dodge I in 2005 and it was about 95% completed when a new job, a move, and a new baby interrupted my modeling. I just pulled it out a few weeks ago and finished it last weekend. It is mostly the Lindberg Ramchargers '64 Dodge kit with a few changes. I shortened the floor pan/chassis to pull the rear axle forward a scale 8 inches and the front suspension is scratch built and located forward a scale 6 inches to mimic the mods Landy made. The engine bay tin is also scratch built. I know it is not completely accurate but my reference photos were of both the car as it was raced and later as it was restored. I used aspects from both to suit my taste. The Willys I built when the kit first came out. Except for detailing, it is box stock. I think this kit is one of the best drag racing model kits ever built. Thanks for looking.
  23. I'm at a total loss for words! I hope someday I can see your work in person.
  24. That is a beautiful, classy model! I like everything about it. Thanks for sharing. KB
  25. Guys, thank you very much for all the compliments. Chris, the dragster is essentially the old AMT Don Garlits Swamp Rat and the engine is mostly from the Revell '41 Willys kit. The scoop is from the parts box. It's really nice to be back into modeling. There is not much going on in the Denver area for modelers (at least that I'm aware of) so it was nice to discover this forum, and especially this thread so I have a place to share my stuff. I am looking forward to getting acquainted with all your work via this thread. Finally, and I hate to single out any one person but, John Teresi, your work blows me away! I can't fathom the amount of work you must put into your models. Thanks again, Ken
