  1. Yea white is one of my favorite colors for these cars.. black would be my favorite but I dont think I am ready for a nice black paint job yet! Thanks man, thats good news.. I did not want to remove them!
  2. So I have been struggling with the wheels in this kit. I dont know if the kit sat in storage too long and the rubber is like plastic or what, but I cant for the life of me to get these whiles pieced together. The actual inner rim section WILL NOT get into any of the 4 tires. I was curious, I like the look of these and they are the correct scale but how can I go about checking if the kit supplied wheels with fit these tires?
  3. Thank you sir!
  4. Along with my 64 Chevy Pickup I started this Tamiya Kit to give to a good friend. Its mostly stock but I had a old Castrol Supra kit so I stole the brakes and probably the seat and other random bits. I tried to fit the wheels but they are too wide and did not want to ruin anything by cutting and hacking it up. Thats beyond my skill level at the moment Some of these pics are not great because I was too lazy to use real camera, so just sent from phone. I love my Spray booth, it may be the only way I continue to work with the move coming in a few weeks. Lets hope it does the job assuming I can properly vent it out a window. 3 Coats of Tamiya pure white on top of 1 grey and 2 white coats of primer Engine is stock nothing fancy. Going to go back and do a few small touch ups. My hand is not as steady as I would like it to be. Assuming my buddy is happy with these wheels, this may be the final stance and fitment. *edit* after posting this I just realized I installed the brakes backwards... uhhggg Thanks for looking, more to come later
  5. Have been so busy at work I have not been able to get any work done. Good news is I FINALLY got the truck to sit how I like it. Now all I need is to figure out how to keep the front fenders. Sorry for the crappy Cell pic.. Canon was dead. I should be posting more on this as I go along. I did also get a promotion so I am moving. In about 3 weeks I will have to pack everything up. I am once again loosing my build station and will have to convince the wife to be ok with me building in the spare bedroom.
  6. Curbside or visible engine?
  7. Looking good man, great idea. Deff looking forward to seeing the progress
  8. That looks GREAT Chris.. What wheels are those they look superb
  9. Sorry for the confusion Darren, those pics were not of my Kit.. but another forum member psoting some tips. Glad you got your answer tho. Planning my wedding and two jobs has slowed work down on my end. I was able to paint the engine. I did paint the cab and bed white it jsut needs soem wet sanding so I can mask it off for the real colors.
  10. Nice work!
  11. Great builds! They look so fun!
  12. RPF1's for a future Honda Civic build if anyone ever makes a 2014 Model LongChamps are for my Datsun 510 Kit thats waiting S20 Might go in the Hasegawa Z432 kit I have L24 I might use for the 510 also if I don't go SR20
  13. Nice job! Regarding the Wesleys bleche white.. I have never used resin before, but also read that you should soak it on another forum. Whats the purpose of this? Is it like washing the standard plastic kits in warm soapy water before building?
  14. I started this kit A LONG time ago but put it away until I was more detail oriented. Cant way to see your build. Good luck!
  15. Great work on the LS7. Time to go shopping! Now.. what to put it in!?
  16. To which part are you referring to specifically Darren? I dont have any detail masters parts or hand crafted parts for this truck. I am a bit confused lol
  17. Looking good, nice detail on the BMF. Looks very real
  18. That front end look fantastic, love the ideas.
  19. Forgot to post these.. Got these items from trades: Found this in my Grandmothers Attick. Most likely belonged to either my Uncle or my Dad. Bought some paint for the 64 also
  20. x2 on the keeping it as is. It wold be great to have a time capsule of my skill set at building these kits from when I was younger til now. Maybe find the same kit and take a 2nd crack at that so you can compare
  21. While the site was down I got a bit of work in. I mostly spent my spare time moving stuff around in the storage the make room for the Artograph booth. Not to get off track here, but once I set it up I was able to open a gift I had received many years ago... am Iwata DA airbrush. Unfortunately as I was trying to practive with it, I may have burned out the badger compressor I was using. It is also brand new. Or well, 6 years ago it was.. but has never been used. AAfter about 5 minutes of being on it got very hot and stopped. after an hour it did turn back on, and sort of works.. but will get hot. I switched back to my Tamiya Surface pimer in the can and realized I was getting the paint to lay nice and smooth from the can, but rough and uneven from the airbush. I do not know if it was my lack of expedrience, impropert setup of the airbrush... or the busted compressor that did me in. For this build I will stick to the spray can! I really want to use the OEM style wheel from this kit, but I can not for the life of me get the inserts inside the tires. I am using the xtra Chrome wheels just to get an idea of what were looking at. Because I am gonna go stock, I dont think I will lower this one.
