Newly reissued Revell BRE Datsun 510 Racecar kit
Project510 replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Got these this week.. I also have the same 510 kit in the upper left corner. Should compare the two. I REALLY need a 620 kit.. -
This is just out of curiosity but why buy a kit you never plan to build?

Edurance Racing Group Build (Official Thread)
Project510 replied to mikevillena's topic in Community Builds
Too late to join this? I just randomly started a Tamiya R89C kit that had been previously started by someone else. I spent yesterday removing paint so I can start fresh. -
I am actually not a mustang fan, let alone Ford after 1955 but I walked into my LHS today and everything was 25% off so I grabbed this.. mainly because I am a sucker for affordable 1/16 scale kits haha

There are cheap snap-tite models on ebay, but I am looking for something a bit nicer. I guess I should have worded this a little better. He likes fire trucks, and has plenty of die cast ones to play with, So this one mom would put on a shelf for display, they both see my instagram posts of kits i build and asked if I could build something. The nicer kits, the trumpeter one being the only I can find that looks cool, is like 80 bux plus shipping!
-
What is really irking me today is I the fact that it is so dang hard to find a decent Fire Truck kit. I want to build one for a little friend of mine and I cant believe the only ones I am finding are priced way to high to build fr a 5 year old who will more than likely destroy it!

Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?
Project510 replied to Synister's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I was planning on making something that could be removed when not in use. The link you posted is cool, and would work but more than I wanted to spend. I will see if I can just make my own. This was the easiest I could think of as well, but was hoping there was something that looked a little nicer to just to keep any one from getting to worried about was in the window. Thankfully the window is over a garage entrance so its not an area in view of many units. . -
Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?
Project510 replied to Synister's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
So I have recently moved, and have a entire room to use for a build station. This is great news however, unlike my previous spot which was an outdoor storage building, I have to vent this paint booth out the bedroom window. I have walked around Home Depot twice now looking for a easy way to do this but keep coming up empty. Here are a few photos (from my cell) that show what I am working with. The preferred setup would be something I can connect both hoses to and slide in the window frame. Any tips, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated! -
very nice! I have this kit and plan to start it after my two current builds.
-
Looks like were are a little under 1 mm to big to be perfectly scale.. ill sand it down and measure again.. well see what happens.
-
Sorry for not updating.. I moved and started new employment so I have been unpacking and the wife has a billion item long to do list..

Great work afx, like this a lot.

Thanks Nate, the wheels in the pic are the Torque from the kit, but I dont want to use them. It looks like the fronts are incorrect because the it only has the back section ( I was just checking stance) I deff like the stock wheels better, kinda going for that look where its a family truck passed down, so a younger guy left it stock but just lowered it. Speaking of the included steel wheels, I must have got a lemon of a kit because in all my years of modeling I have never had a set of wheels be so freaking difficult to assemble. maybe its the years and years of the box sittig in storage and rubber turned ot plastic but wow.. I got them in to test and now i dont want to remove them to paint LOL I am happy with the stance now, just need to get her painted.
