  1. Wow amazing detail. Thanks for sharing, this is really sweet.
  2. Yes Heat will be my issue. I have a very powerfull fan, but I am worried about dust. I will come up with something!
  3. No way, that bike is more important to me than my current car! Im rehabbing from an injury right now which explains the front brake, but I am supposed to ride from SF to LA next year! It does get chilly at night but obviously nothing at all like Canada. Funny thing is the room is attached to the laundry room so its always warm.
  4. Funny you should ask that, I used to work there No unfortunately it is not.
  5. So after far too long I have finally ahve a place of my own to get back into modeling. Its been so long I am not even sure if any of the paints/glues or other liquids are even still usable. So basically I manage an apartment complex and there are 3 outside storage units. 1 has been converted into the Maintenance work area, the 2nd a appliance storage space and the third, will now be so I can build again. Its not pretty but it will do: In the individual storage spaces I have all my personal belongings. Camping equipment, Annual holiday decorations etc.. But I will be utilizing the space directly behind the desk to keep the paint and other stuff that does not need to stay on the desk unless its being used. Good news is I got space to store the bike and other tools also so now its out of the apartment As you can see there is plenty of space. Its a bit of a mess right now but I will eventually get it all cleaned up and clutter free. Its kind fo fun setting all this up too because I am seeing things I have not seen in like 3-5 years! Found my old collection of wheels too haha Anyways, I will update this as I clean it up and make it nice! Just happy I have the space now. Cheers,
  6. I think George has the ideal set up, wow man..
  7. Great technique, looks very nice.
  8. Well if I wasnt nervous before I AM NOW! Updates should start to slowly roll in after tomorrow. I will be clearing out the storage area, setting up my desk and tools. I just need to figure out ventilation. I think a simple screen door paired with my huge fan should be good enough. Thanks for all the photos, encouragement, and PRESSURE!
  9. Thanks for the inspiration Justin! If my weathering techniques were good enough, I may try that weathered patina look..
  10. I was thinking something like this. Nothing set yet tho. Want to keep it simple, get some seat time in.. and actually complete something to really get the stuff flowing. Also, I think I purchased this like 4-5 years back so I am sure its out there.
  11. Been far too long since I have even tried to build anything. I wanted to start with a kit I would not want to put too many extras on. I am sure I will still have to fight the urge to over do it.. but I will try to keep it as box stock as I can. Updates will be slow, I am actually in the process of setting up a temporary build space in my outside storage unit at the property I manage. I believe I already started this kit a few years back but only got as far as washing the kit and maybe cleaning up some stuff.
  12. Near Irvington High School
  13. I use the drybrush painting technique. http://www.amazon.com/Tooltron-00015-Micro-Applicator-Brushes/dp/B004KYYOH2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370995137&sr=8-2&keywords=microbrush+applicators Use these microbrushes, apply paint to brush, wipe off excess paint on a papr towel and just slightly brush the raised letters. It works quite well
  14. Nothing wrong with Datsun's either
  15. Thats a great finish considering it came from a can. Any post paint sanding? Great Job, decals match perfectly!

  17. First off, thanks for the welcome party. Yes, it does seem to be one if not the best forums out there. Tom, I am actually in an apartment right now. Not the ideal spot but I actually Manage this small property so the owner requires I live here. The previous places were always owned by soeone else.. I was renting rooms etc. Laz you are very correct, I didnt want to get to specific but the "kids" are not actually mine.. they are my sisters kids. I watch them in transition from school to when parents get home. Since I work from home its convenient. So they typically only spend a few hours here. And the boy is too young to be left alone while I build. All will be well tho! I am converting what is a outdoor storage space into my build station. I took some quick photos tonight and I will post up later. Its not going to be fancy, because if I dont plan on being here longer than a year more. Again, thank you all see ya around!
  18. Hello Model car mag forum! Not to much to say, from the Bay Area, Go A's! Been modeling since I was about 10, but was never in a place long enough to really get settled. So I still consider myself a rookie. Now that I am old enough to focus on the 50+ Kits I have in storage, the wife thinks the smell will bother the kids.. so my current plans are to build a cheap portable station to put in my outside storage unit. Im sure it will be nice following your builds, Cheers,
  19. That looks amazing, love the color!
