  1. Excuse the bad photo. I let a buddy borrow my camera for his Boston trip so this is from the cell phone. The interior is coming along nice I think. This is the first crack at really using the flocking to create the carpet look. I like it.
  2. Thanks Toast! It was tough, I have a very shaky hand. I mean in all honesty you wont see any of it in the car. But the photos will prove it is done! haha
  3. Yea all Fujimi instructions seems to be difficult. My instructions do not even contain paint codes for all parts lol. Thanks for the positive comments Ryan. That looks like its going to be a fun kit. The below pic is not fantastic as I do not have steady hands for close up. I tried adding some detail to the dashboard but it was just ehh.. The green color I painted on the area that should be the radio display face dried to dark to see. Same with the clear red that was supposed to be the dark red clear clock face. Oh well.. some detail is better than none.
  4. Thanks Scott, my 89 SI as not my first car, but certainly a favorite. Appreciate the comments about the photos. Since joining this forum I have learned so much regarding building and even taking photos of the cars so I have MCM to thank haha
  5. Got coats of Grey Tamiya primer and white on the body. Getting the interior started as well. Flocking is next! Excuse the poor photos. I am still trying to get a hang of this photo booth thing.
  6. Agreed, the show is a bit staged.. but they build some nice cars.
  7. Had a small amount of time to work on something so I got some Tamiya Primer on the body.
  8. Cant remember if I updated recently with my latest purchases. Should spend less time buying and more time building
  9. Im a little late to the party but I will join. This on the workbench right now. I have not done much at all besides look over the kit and its instructions. I am a little surprised at how off the kit wheels are. One terrible thing people are doing to get these cars lowered is giving them a horrible stance. I want a stock oem stance, but a low ride height. The wheels in the kit which are supposed to be scaled at 15x6.5 actually scale to 17x10.5 if I am doing the math right. That will be what I work the most at trying to correct.
  10. Right on!. Looking good man.
  11. I am using cans rsxse240. Ill sand it down and give it one more try haha. Appreciate the compliments also.
  12. Id be interested in that SI Coupe kit if you wanted trade or sell it.
  13. Nice detail on the build Disabled modeler. Thanks for the comments.
  14. Jeez has it really been since April that I last posted an update? So far all I have gotten done is Paint. I have painted it twice now and still cant get it right. The roof on the passenger side fish eyes badly no matter how much I try to clean and prep it. It looks nice other than that. I will be putting the box stock engine in there hopefully this weekend, but I have been working so much overtime, I get maybe an hour a week to d any model stuff.
  15. wow very nice!
  16. ^^ Looking good Misha. Work is very busy so I have been real tired. Getting an hour here, 30 mins there.. Also, I have come to realize I have super shaky hands. I can not keep still for nothing. Lots of little goof ups in the painting tiny details. Its ok I can fix it all. Also, tried dry brushing the Nissan lettering on valve covers but didnt do to well. will fix this also.
  17. Love the build, did you make those AN fittings yourself or were they purchased? Where would I find some? I have the braided lines and standard fittings from detail masters but have been unable to find the 45 and 90 degree bend pieces
  18. Been so busy with work I have not done much. I am finding harder than expected to find detailed interior shots of the car, and they also never match so I am just going with what I think looks cool haha
  19. That was fast, I guess the decision to buy two of them was not a bad idea after all. Im sure there are tons floating around... albeit for higher prices.
  20. Most of the Kits and tools that I own I purchased years and years ago while working at Hobbytown USA, so I got for pretty cheap. I think over the last 7 years after quitting I have only purchased like 10 kits. So for me the hobby stays relatively inexpensive because I have enough to build for quite a long time. Plus since finding this forum I have made trades for a few more so thats cool. Any of the cost involved for the hobby was my spray booth and misc. supplies like paints, glues etc
  21. woa, interesting that I randomly came across a video of yours on Youtube and today discover you post on here. Looks like you are having fun, man.. good stuff
  22. I would SO love to purchase both the Future Liner and Corvair but these are priced so far out of the range of possible I could only dream. This is not to say that I do not understand the cost of creating something like this, and also you needing to make it profitable.. But couldn't justify paying for than $50 or so dollars for a plastic model Great work, that Future Liner is probably the coolest thing I have seen on here since joining. I also think this could be a GREAT idea.
