Movie cars "Jefferson's Z-28 from Fast times ..?
donkeypuncher76 replied to donkeypuncher76's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Sorry about that Rick. I must have seen a crazyjim post just prior to that post, thx for the info, i did my primering and flat black for base parts. Since I just started again I have 7 or 8 on the desk, finally trying to get amt Freightliner done. I'm sorry but I guess I am copying you fast times z28:) I hope mine is nearly as good. -
I know by now since i haven't finished the thread but the original Optimas Prime in the 80's cartoon was a red and blue KW cabover, and i know this will be said. The pic of Optimas(flat top pete version) with that sweet stainless 53'er is in transformers 3, he gets p.o'd when he dumps it in final battle sequence. I wish I was talented enough to accomplish that paint job. it has now become my all time favorite movie star..R.D#2, BJ's KW now#3 lol.!!!!!!!!!!!!!My bad, it was a freightliner in the 80's cartoon, just saw one on tv, and the funny thing about the new version; it's pulling a reefer, we knw why, but prime has that massive chrome headache rack for flatbeddin? silly i kinow..

As I saw this thread my neice is watching sesame st., ironically the lil yip yip aliens came on as i am scrolling through( utube them if you are wondering).. As i read the post by wagoneer ":It looks like B.J. sold the kw100 and the40'er", I start hearing[ "YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP, RADIO?..OOOOHH RADIO? NOPE NOPE NOPE.OHHH SHINEY, YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP, ..." guess the lil guys needed a connex hp with a big kicker and some nice wilson's. haha..Way cool build, growin up in the jump seat in the late 70's early 80's, then rollin over a million of my own miles, I lose myself in the rig threads like a kid in wal-mart lookin 4 mommy. Awesome build! no more babbles 2day..:)from me, i hope.

Nice, intensive work. I have just found an ad on craigslist that alot of us rig jockeys and heavy equipment fans could be "GOLD, JERRY, GOLD I TELL YA". I am supposed to meet up this evening to gbo "shopping". In phoenix,az craigslist ad "1/24 trucks" just type that in the general for sale area, easy to find. I dont know terms fro shipping for outta states etc.. need to ask.. . This ghuy has, litterally 2 car garage full of un-built mostly sealed amt mack r series, amt mack 685st, countless 1.24 tankers, dry van, lowboy trailer kits, the construction equipment stuff, jihn deere, cats.etc, Bulldozers, tractors plows, omg! end dump trailers, kw-t600's (kw canepa same thing) a pile of sealed jeeps, swap rat is what i think they are, coca cola deliver fords, old kw 925's cab over petes(that better still be there tonight lol_) i can't keep flipping screens to let know, im 2 stokedf, 25$ per kit.RUBBER DUCK FANS!! if he will ship 25$ for those kits sealed is worth the shipping alone..phoenix.craigslist.org do the search 1/24 trucks you are here so I know you can find it. tons of pics. If all works out if shipping is an issue, maybe we can figure it out, he's not that from me so.paypal? ..theres just so many kits listed and shown that I just hope its not b.s when i get there and hope 1 of us at least can get an "ebvilbay lot price, for a shelf full of un touched goodness". check the ad, call him etc..this rd thread is was made me go shoppiung, i was only looking for build help for my freightliner cab-over( am i at the craft store again?" later guys have a good one.

I know it's 50/50 on the looks of a Tucker abd most have never seen a real one except for pictures. Before the big "C" got me and turned my body into a barn find, I was a cross country trucker and there is a little place in Murdo, South Dakota called the murdo auto museum, he may sold it by now, but in 2005 Tuckers wife lent them one to display very differant car but in person very cool looking, they also a has Ellenor and an original cbs General Lee(318 ick.) along with 5 acres of most of our dream cars in barns that looked as they were never driven, if they're sgtill there and you ever happen across I-90 in S.D x106 or so.. it's worth the 6$. thx

Wow, that you at the front of that line? You should have heard those women! lol. I too am now glad i am not alone alone, just yesterday was at that same chain with coupons for my merc. but ended up at the counter doing a juggling act, never thought i'd need a cart, geez i only went in for a 49 merc. walkjed out with an 60$ tab, with 40% and 25% coupons, i just couldn't stop grabbing more goodies on the way out. Nice job crazyJim! Did you use that same kit? Not trying to copy yours, well I guess I am, do you the carpet/seat offset color scheme on that car? I was looking for pics of that car for referances and . Wow one of the images that popped up was this photbucket link a bit ago, there is no way I had that bad of a day yesterday, after michaels, my gf's isuzu blew a tire, no jack and a flat spare. the cellulittes i am dealing with kicked in and cooked and boiled me but was happy with z28 idea and the reason i wanted the merc. was the movie "Cobra"., man whhat are the odds you did that 1 already too, i was going for some less popular "stars" . You do some nice work. Body work on models is still a learning process unless its just a roof cutoff or easy van doors for me. my 57 chevy is almost there finally lotsa work. Thanks 4 the referance link btw. -

i figured as much, lol. i will continue as planned, telling myself i alomost had an original idea.lol. should be an easy one, just opened it and it even has the blue decal/stripes like the 1 in the movie. -
I was goofing off at michaels to grab full set of the glitter-free flocking(clearance 4.99, 12 big tubes even) yesterday, had my coupon so i could get the '49 merc. and on clearance was the street burner '79 z-28 for 8.99, just happened saturday Fast times @ Ridgemont High was on late. I can't recall seeing anyone do a build up on that one yet? All i know is "my dad's a tv repair man, he's got an ultimate set of tools". Any ideas or has it been done? For once I at least know exactly what how to build the kit already at least, thx. jh

I am fairly new here and also have solice if not addiction to this forum and getting back to the wonderful model world. I can relate with you man, I am glad you have beaten the odds and a long back is alot better than waiting for the cliff to give way, it's hard to find ways to keep smiling in these situations. keep on keepin' on bro. It's this disease of styrene that makes my days once again seem brighter too. 35 and physically a disaster these days myself I appreciatte the fellas who contribute, help with tips and criticism and especially the guys who put this all together to keep us smiling. continued prayers and well wishes Chris. -
A little something I've been working on
donkeypuncher76 replied to brnc77's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I never thought I'd ever see a model of a Winnebago, now I have seen it all. Very nice work for 90% scrach build or not you sir have opened a door for snowbirds everywhere to build again:) -
A little behind the class here, my grandpa had a 56 vicky close to same color combo, (before my time), my mom saw this pic and says it looks better than the real deal the day he drove it home. I would possibley sell a kidney to be able to paint that beautiful on a model. TOP NOTCH WORK SIR!

If that, I really thought it meant "First.On.Recall.Day"..."THE HEARTBREAK OF AMERICA, FORD". all in good fun.. love the Tbolts, nice car.

Wow, lotsa nice work, looks like one we saw in the river last week while out shooting. Never appreciated what amount of work you guys put into those till I started following the good Dr.'s teachings. I bet earll scheib won't do a $99.00 paint job for that 1.

My dad was always a Ford guru but had a love of the Cougars, built a few nasty muscle cats in Denver way back when, we always talked Mustang and Cougar stylings, being the same platforms. Yet Mustangs had the fastback styles and coupes, the "Grande" lol. which had the same roof lines as the Cats we speak of, I have forgot all about this till I saw the this killer Cat, nice work. Wouldn't ya know it, just finished a re-run of "Overhaulin" with Chip Foose, where they took the quaters from a69/70 fastback stang and cut them into a convertible car for the lines, way way better. Mercury/Ford would have sold sooooo many more Cougars:) with your design. i'd like to have one like it but am far from that skill level chopping bodys, I.E. my 57 chevy build. Sorry guys, babble....brought back some fond memories of pops. thx mcm..If your interested in selling it let me know thx again. nice.

Cool, I have not seen these for awhile, but the beer truck is on my sisters mantle, it was her favorite of my sinced passed dads builds. The first one he taught me to build properly was, and who can forget, the "Paddy Wagon"... that would finish your mini show-rod show right off. Nice work.

slammed together/ niice job, i ended up using some of this kits parts or, well parts. the way they redesigned the tiers and wheels with 3 holes messed me up and after the rims didn't look good, i gave up. same frame color, interiot is all flocked and dressed but those lil things ug. nice work. -
