  5. I hope this is the right section for this post I finally was able to try my new badger 200 out today with tamiya red acrylic , i thinned it 1.1 and i thought the results were good but when i went to clean out the brush i used hardware bought paint thinner and it didn't work it just seemed to seperate is there a alternative to thinning tamiya acrylic and model master enamel other than buying there own brand which as you know is very pricey , i know this will be a no brainer to you guys but i am new to this air brush thing thanks in advance
  6. Like peter said my wife supports what i do cause it keeps me outta her hair, on the other hand because i have no problem spending 100's when i go to the hobby store i do sneak some by her , like my last shipment from modelroundup (all hudsons)they arrived while she was at work and they went right to the basement
  7. Mark what colour of green is that you used i'm building mine and want to go with the green
  8. Since my hobby store is 1 hour away i gotta make it worth my drive also ordered a paasche H and spray-work painting stand set should be in next then i'll have to drive all the way there and maybe get some more kits gotta make it worth the drive right
  9. up hear in canada prices are rediculous thats why a lot of us head south of the boarder for shopping trips, i could have got it online for half the price but by the time i pay for shipping and customs it works out the same as if i bought it hear , there is no hobby lobby hear just micheals and all they carry is the badger 200 and 350
  10. thanks guys for all your input , i went with the paasche H to start then i'll see as time goes on if double action is in the running thanks again
  11. Hi guys well i'm thinking of buying a airbrush, i just can't figure if i want a single or dual action, these are what i am thinking about Badger 200 @ micheals with discount i can get for 70.00 Badger 150-7 @ 149.99 Badger 155-7 @139.99 Pasche VL @109.99 Pasche Millenium @94.99 I want something simple that will do a great job any suggestions would be appreciated
  12. Steve the blower is not rated as fire or explosion proof but the motor is out of the air flow which in my opinion and others it should be good enough
  13. Steve-- the total cast was 90.00 for the blower and 35.00 for the plywood (3pcs 24x48x3/8) and 5.00 for the filter,15.00 dryer kit crazyjim- the plastic dryer kit has a square flange with with 2 inches of tube on both sides i just cut one side flush and it fit perfect
  14. yea thats next weekends job is to paint it i got all kinds of white gloss here
  15. Scalenut it's a dayton 1TDR3 from acklands-grainger it might be a different number in the us
  16. cadillac pat i thought about putting it in the center but with the 1/2 flange that goes around the air exit the blower wouldn't sit flush against back wall,,,and i was worried about not drawing all the fumes and paint away from front so when it was done this afternoon i sprayed my 77 wrecker, i placed it right at the front and with me spraying 4-5 inches from body the fan did a great job and sucked all fumes away so i know now that with it in the back corner it draws from the front with no problem now with the baffles do you mean just like a 1x2 around the whole perimater?
  17. no no i don't smoke while painting i'm just saying now when i'm building i can have one down stairs and not have to go out side
  18. Okay i've been wanting the 52 and 53 hudsons for a while i emailed my local hobby stores to get pricing both stores gave me a price of 35.99 for the 53 and 45.99 for the 52 plus had to wait up to 3 weeks maybe more so i purchased online from model roundup at a cost of 56.00 with shipping a 26.00 difference with shipping and i'll probably get them sooner that if they had ordered them ,, anyone from north of the border run into this
  19. Well i just sprayed my gmc wrecker and i am very pleased at how well it worked ,also this will keep momma happy as there is no smoking in the house but i usually do when i am in basement all i have to do is turn it on a bam no smoke or smell , yaaaa killed 2 birds with one stone
  20. Harry , the pegboard on the back is there if i need to hang something or multiple things to spray
  21. not sure what i'm going to do about lighting if i'll use what i have or get some led or halogen pucks to mount inside any suggestions
  22. First started with a good blower, 273 CFM bought from acklands grainger $90.00 2nd bought $35.00 of plywood could have made it 15.00 cheaper if i had used MDF but it would have been to heavy Finally the finished product,i ran out of aluminum duct tape so had to finish with the handy mans special duct tape will buy more of the proper tape when i make it back to hardware store to get solid piece of duct work , don't like the plastic dryer type that i bought
