Has anyone received one yet? Hopefully someone will post some pics of the decals. I would like to see them.

The Plastic Performance Products wheel are styrene and not resin like most aftermarket wheels. They are nice pieces for the older short track and nascar replicas.

I do not have any WIP pics but i have some with the body off. The thing i do with these kits(35 chevy tobias frame) is to lower the body on the frame by not using the interior piece that glues inside the body and cut the notches in the firewall longer(higher) to let the body drop.

I bought both his videos a year ago at the cincinnati show and just wanted to thank him. I finally got around to trying his technique, and have to say i was really pleased with the results. I highly recommend the videos to the newbies or oldies like me getting back into it.

Wheels are aftermarket. Fronts are PPP wide five's and the rears are Early racing classics(erc). I had the rears for quite awhile and don't know if they are still available or not, but the fronts are widely available still.

Used the amt 36 chevy wild one kit for the blue car and the amt 35 chevy sedan modified kit for the other.

Heres two of my latest builds. Two already this year is rare for me.

I just ordered 2 of these bodies this week from jackie sims (gator) http://www.fredsresinworkshop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16828 http://z8.invisionfree.com/Scale_Racing_Lobby/index.php?showtopic=8771

I did not look on there facebook page, i always just look at the flyer which said nothing about top 10. I entered 3 cars in one class which would not compete for top 10, they would have only competed within their own class. For me personally it was a waste of time and money as with some other guys also.I did hear alot of guys leaving that were very upset. I think they need to post it on all of the pages, flyers, ect. next year so people know up front. I know from now on i will make a call to ask so i know to go or stay home. Other than the awards it was a pretty good time.

I'm sure due to the awards there will be less attendence next year. I will skip this one next year. Alot of nice models got cheated.

Thanks chris, i have been using 800 grit and bondo 2 part also. I use the plasti-kote t-235 or t-237 primer. I have thought about how i have been applying it and i put it on pretty heavy and not misting it. basically being in a hurry. I will have to try building the layers up see if that helps.
-
I've been getting my body work to the point where my primer fills in the fine scratches. I wet sand it and get it glass smooth. When i apply another coat of primer or top coat, the scratches or seams i filled reappear. It doesn't it with every brand primer i use. Am i trying to fill to much with primer? any help on this?

Has anybody here tried them? I ordered some and was wondering how they worked. Also do they come ready to spray or do they have to be thinned for airbrushing? I will also be using the alclad base coat. Thanks for any input.

I should have added that i need a body and hood only for the maverick, not the comet. Does missing link sell the body and hood separate for the maverick? thanks -

Does missing link sell the body separate? wanted one for a short track project. -
I also picked up donn's videos at the cincy show this spring and would recommend them to anyone. I was able to talk with him and his wife at the show for even more tips. everything i ask him he said, it's all in the videos. After just getting back to building these videos have really made a difference in my paint jobs. Thanks donn.

I like the color also. what color is it?

Neon paint from my understanding is that it has to have a white base. I was wondering since i use plastikote white primer, do i still need the white base coat? thanks for any help guys.

Where can I buy the January 2012 Issue of MCM ?
grt222 replied to Dave D's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How about the cincinnati, ohio area? -
Just read the article in the november issue listed in the truckers corner about the Movin'on truck. It listed a paint code for the paint color. I contacted dave at MCW paint and he said he could not find any kenworth paint codes for 70's trucks. Does anyone know where to get the #5255 paint code that is listed in the magazine. Thanks for any help.
