  1. try a Hobby Lobby, or Michael's craft store for stuff called instant rust, probably in the paint/finishes section...
  2. depends what you're painting...solid colors, yes, 'color sand' before clearcote...metalics and pearls, NO as this tends to swirl or, muddy the finish, in this case you do ALL the polishing on the clear, so have ample clear on... i use #2000 wet every 2nd coat of clear..i also do this in the color phase, helps for a smoother, final finish that glosses nicely...
  3. that's a cool idea!! almost cartoony, but believable.. gonna have wheelie bars?? lol hmmm, i may ste..borrow that idea in the future...
  4. turned out nicely... as for the frame construction, for me, it was more fiddly than hard/stoopid, i used ca glue also, the medium viscosity and some kicker... a couple of times...lolol

  15. i always heat the can by holding it under the hot tap water for about a minute or so, till the can feels warm...helps the paint 'flow' as smooth out on it's own...

  22. i'm a firm believer in Plasticote sandable primers...T235-236-237-238 grey, black, white, red... a good 'barrier' for the plastic to accept the hotter automotive lacquers/enamels...i believe you can put 2 part Urethane over anything without any probs... spray away!!
  23. now Harry, ya know we don't READ all the posts!!! sometimes we just gotta ask!! lololl
  24. WOWOWOW here we go again!!! put that in the real or not game!! i've got the same kit[as a lot of us do!!]... what base did you use under the HoK Organic green?? that's a veerrrry good colormatch... when i get around to it[started the frame months ago..]i may use that HoK paint instead of a dark jade Duplicolor with the Organic green as a topcoat and then clear... what did ya make the scoop from??
  25. there's another great looking set out there also... Canadian, but, i can't remember their name!![it's hell to get old!!] i've got more than a few things from them in the past... anyway, Minilites[w/open centers], soft resin Goodyear Bluestreak's and a hub/spindle/rotor mount.. gad, i can't think of their name!!! verrry nice people, met them at NNL East a few years ago....
