  1. Another alternative, even easier, is to use textured, or "faux fabric" spray paint. I don't know what colors it comes in, but it doesn't matter, because you can overspray any color you want on top of it.
  2. Even the Amish have gone past that...
  3. I hope the torn tendon and your new "obsession" have no connection whatsoever...
  4. Hey! We're not all old!
  5. If you have Photoshop and know how to use it, that's all you need. There's nothing you can't do in Photoshop!
  6. Good to see you! Welcome aboard. About time you made your way over here! And get that mag subscription... I guarantee you, you won't be sorry...

  8. Actually Bill has the problem 99% solved... the articulating framework is the hard part, and he's got that done. Finding a suitable material for the actual top shouldn't be too hard. I think silk would work, it's very thin and very flexible. Maybe even a piece of linen or a small piece of bedsheet with a really high thread count. The trick would be cutting the material oversized and folding and gluing the "flaps" around the metal framework without having the glue show through the material on the outside.
  9. He's been here a long time... he just never posts...
  10. And I have their 1/12 '57 Bel Air... but 1/12 is twice the size of 1/24...
  11. Thank God we're not all on web cams!
  12. I like how you reworked the seam at the back between the body and the "bumper"... good placement, good eye for detail and cohesive design. Most people will never notice that detail when the model is done, because it's not noticeable... it just looks right. When you look at the primed body, you really have to look twice to even see what's "different"... and that's a good thing, because it means the design works.
  13. Isn't a "flashback" what happens about an hour or two after you eat at Taco Bell?
  14. Well, whatever you wind up calling it, it looks pretty cool... especially the rear 3/4 view. You certainly "fixed" the Camaro's styling, that's for sure.
  15. Oh, I wish I knew that! I would have been first in line to buy them from you!
  16. Challarostang? Sounds like something you'd get at Taco Bell!
  17. The way funny cars have "evolved," this could be pretty much what they all look like in a few years!
  18. That must have been one heck of a photo shoot!
  19. Sorry, chief! Back to models...
  20. I've never used the stuff so I can't comment on it... however, if you're talking about attaching small parts to bits of sprue to use as a handle while you paint the part(s), there are better ways to go. A small loop of masking tape works, or my personal favorite: I use a tiny drop of CA to glue the part in a spot that won't be seen after assembly to a length of scrap sprue. After the paint dries I just snap the part off. Works great, and the sprue makes a great parts holder for painting.
  21. Tell that to the average Joe in Iraq... or Afghanistan... or Darfur... or North Korea... or about a dozen or more dictatorships in Africa... or... well, you get the picture. Life is good for some people, life really sucks for way too many more, and mostly, through no fault of their own.
  22. Have you heard the rumors of a Lindberg '63 Hudson?
  23. It's in our DNA... human beings are basically petty, vindictive and territorial. That's why we're constantly fighting wars. Whoa... what a downer of a statement! Sad, but true. The few that can rise above are by far the very tiny minority.
  24. That's cool! You merged old and new pretty seamlessly... nice job!
  25. Very nice! It could almost pass for real. Almost...
