  1. Well, when you traded away the RR at least you kept things in the MOPAR family!
  2. That's a tough choice you had to make. I understand your logic based on the price you originally paid for the car, but as a major MOPAR guy, I shudder to think you traded in a collectible vintage RR in #2 condition with a very rare option package for a Pacifica. In the future the RR's value will rise over time, while the Pacifica's value will drop. In 5 years the RR will be even more sought after, while the Pacifica will be just another used car. You realize that Chrysler has dropped Pacifica due to no sales. Maybe if you keep it long enough it might some day have the same collector car value your RR had. I see your point about the RR's value being affected by mileage and wear and tear. If it was me I'd have garaged the RR and saved it for nice weekends, keeping the value up, and bought a cheaper car as my daily driver. But we all have different priorities, I guess. But man, I'd give a kidney to own a nice vintage RR like that!!! Tough choice you had to make!
  3. And you traded that for an SUV???!!!! Holy $#&#@*&!!!! What in the world were you thinking???
  4. And the chrome trim around the wheelwells!!! Break out the BMF!!!
  5. As a die-hard White Sox fan, all I can say is... WOO HOO!!!! Sox just beat the Twins 1-0 to win the AL Central. Wow, both the Sox and the Cubs are in the playoffs! First time that's happened in over 100 years!
  6. I don't know why but I have a sudden craving for ketchup...
  7. Hey man... save a little sumthin' for the magazine...
  8. From what you describe, I'd say that your modeling isn't the real problem... there is a whole lot more going on between your mom and you that goes a lot deeper than model building. You two need to figure out what the real problem is... but it sure isn't building models.
  9. eeeewww!!!!! I just stepped in something! GREGG!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Hey, I'm the King of "taking months to years" to finish a model! I have several models that have been "in progress" for literally years! I'll pull something out whenever the mood strikes me and work on it until I get bored with it, then I'll pull something else out and work on it a while, etc. I almost never build a model straight through start to finish... it's very rare that any particular model holds my interest that long! At any given time I have several different models going in various stages of completion. I guess for me the whole point is the process. I enjoy building the model. Once it's done, whatever fun that model provided me is over. But that's the cool thing about this hobby: it can be enjoyed in whatever way you want. Some guys build models in order to compete against other builders, some build in order to get more finished product up on the shelf, some build just because they like to build. Whatever... it's all good!
  11. Looks good! Now here's my question. Don't misunderstand, I'm not knocking it, necessarily, but what is the point of forcing yourself to build a given model in a certain amount of time? The way I see it, modeling is an activity best done at leisure, not under a "deadline", self-imposed or otherwise. So why do you give yourself a time limit to build a model? Once again, not slamming you... just curious. It seems so totally opposed to the way I enjoy building.
  12. Ok, all you detectors of deception, what do you say? The answer: MODEL!
  13. Ken, the 2008 death toll under your sig line is really adding up...
  14. Uhhh, aren't you posting your news on the wrong forum?
  15. Not to mention the fantastic food products and all his work for charities. Oh... and not a half-bad actor, either. Two of my all-time favorite movies: "The Verdict" and "Road to Perdition". Guess who starred in both of them...
  16. That's quite an eclectic mix of cars in the parking lot. Patti's place apparently draws the car collector crowd!!!
  17. ok, now that George has woken me up again... The vote was close for a while, but you guys pulled it out in the end! It's REAL... but it's not the real car! The car is the 1909 "Blitzen Benz" (Lightning Benz), and it held the world speed record for 10 years or so. However, this photo is of an exact replica of the original car(s). It's not the original, but is is 1:1, and it really runs, so it's REAL! Here's the whole story: http://www.worldcarfans.com/5050823.001/200-hp-blitzen-benz Next ROM coming Monday!
  18. Very cool. Your color choices are great, nice looking model all around!
  19. I've also heard that the Carolinas are beautiful... Raleigh, Greenville, Mayberry...
  20. I'll agree that Christmas just isn't Christmas without snow... but aside from that ONE day, I could easily do with no snow, ever. I'd love to live in Albuquerque or Taos or somewhere near there... perfect weather almost every day. No monsoons, floods, hurricanes, typhoons, tropical storms, tornados, or cyclones, ever! So why am I still here in the midwest? Inertia...
  21. Harry P.

    Gun for hire?

I'd love to... But my work doesn't come cheap...
  22. Is that some sort of comment on Chicago??? Heck, we get all the weather here... hot and humid in the summer, freeze-your-butt-off cold in the winter, and everything else in between. But we don't get anywhere near the rainfall you get. A few weeks ago we got 7 inches in one day... and that was the all-time one-day record for Chicago. I can't imagine 20+ inches in 24 hours!
  23. If that's a current photo of your house, and you have snow on the ground in September, all I can say is OUCH! BTW... in the 80s here.
  24. My friend Google helped me find it... http://www.barry.warmkessel.com/barry/windsor2.html
