Anyone has instructions on doing Noah's Ark?
Harry P. replied to ismaelg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was sitting in my dry house watching news coverage and wondering why the heck it is that people insist on living in areas that are so prone to hurricanes! -

ok, here ya go. As far as where to find a ruler in cubits, you're on your own. Now get busy! -
Solid tires?

It looks like striping. It's definitely NOT a highlight. But of course that doesn't mean it's a factory option... it could be some sort of aftermarket graphic.

Pro Touring Plymouth ... ENGINE pics Update 9-22
Harry P. replied to raisin27's topic in WIP: Model Cars
If Chrysler built that exact same car today they'd sell 'em as fast as they could build 'em! Too cool!!! -
Ditto on that. Then red wheels don't make it with the paint scheme.

testors spray enamel, now what!?
Harry P. replied to pussiwillow's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Here's a tip you'll thank me for later: Do not use Testor's spray enamels. I know that there will probably be a few people posting what a great paint job they got with Testor's enamels, and I guess it's possible to get a good result with them, but believe me: acrylics or lacquers are much easier to use, dry smoother and faster, and will generally give you a much better result than enamels, which are prone to orange peel and take forever to dry. My advice: Don't use enamels ever again... next time try a lacquer or an acrylic. You'll be pleasantly surprised, and odds are you'll never use spray enamels again. -
I'm anticipating a very busy Monday, so I won't have time to do ROM Monday morning... so I'll do it now, while I still have time! Anyway... ROM? The answer REAL!

Beautiful! In every way.

Yeah, it's not well known. Only brought out mid-year 1970 and carried over to '71, but that was it. It had "T37" badges behind the front wheelwells. And it had a chrome bumper, the GTO had the plastic "Endura" bumper. (I'm not sure, but maybe the GTO was available with the chrome bumper too, but the T37 was not available with the "Endura" bumper. I think... )

The T37 was 1970-71 only, for '72 and the "poor man's GTO" was the Lemans.

Avoid ALL the aforementioned hassles. Get a Mac! I've been a Mac user all my computing life. I've NEVER had a virus. Ever. -

Hey man... age is just a number! Or, you're as young as you feel.... Ah, who am I kidding? I'm at the age now where I sit in front of the house and tell the kids to get off the lawn!!! It seems like just yesterday when I was one of those kids on the lawn! -

Not really three times the cost. A bit more expensive, but not three times as much! Now their laptops, those are expensive. Especially that thin one that fits into an envelope! But I'm talking about a G4 tower. It's like the Energizer bunny.... it just keeps going.. and going... But hey, I'm old enough to remember when I did my job at a drawing table with illustration boards and Rapidograph pens and an airbrush. An apple was just a fruit, and Mac was what you called a guy whose name you didn't know!!! -

Ok, one more pro-Mac rave and then I'll be quiet. My "work" computer (a Mac, of course!) gets heavy-duty usage every single day. Huge graphics files (some nearly a gig in size!!!), several software programs up and running simultaneously, etc... "heavy duty" usage, for sure. It's 5-6 years old now and still running like a top. But one day... it started freezing and crashing, I was getting weird error messages, software programs wouldn't launch, etc. In other words, it was acting like a PC! So I took it into the local Mac store at the Woodfield mall here in Chicago. The tech began to look it over immediately...no "leave it here and we'll get back to you in a few weeks" BS... he did all sorts of tests and diagnostics. After about 20 minutes he told me what the problem was: the computer was fine, there was nothing wrong with it. The problems were being caused by a faulty third-party memory card I had installed. The card had actually "gone bad", with some sort of physical disconnect in the circuitry. When the tech removed the faulty memory card, my Mac worked just fine! After all that, I asked him what the charges would be. He said, "No charge!" His explanation: since there was nothing wrong with my Mac, he technically didn't fix anything. Even his time diagnosing and solving the problem was "no charge"!!! Now that's what I call customer service! I was sold on Macs before this incident, but after my experience at the Mac store, I'm an even firmer believer in Apple. A lot of other companies could learn a thing or two about customer service from those guys. And for the record...I don't own Apple stock, I don't work for Apple, and I don't know anyone who works for them or owns their stock. I'm just a very satisfied customer. -

Macs can be pricey, but "you get what you pay for". I still have the first Mac I ever owned, and it still works great. Of course, advances in processors, operating systems and technology have made my old stone-age Mac obsolete, but it does still run great. It's never needed any kind of repairs whatsoever. Because of advances in computer technology it's basically useless to me now, but I hang on to it anyway. Seems a shame to throw it away... BTW... I love the "Hello, I'm a Mac... and I'm a PC" commercials. Hilarious. -
Does that paint/decal scheme represent a real car, or did you make it up? If you made it up... great job! It looks like the real thing to me!
