  1. Sounds like a lot of doubletalk to me. JoHan is being resurrected? I'll believe it when (if) I see it.
  2. Right wing... or left?
  3. Hey, how about this! I beat George to the punch this time!!! Real or model? The answer: MODEL!
  4. No emails here either. Wassammater, Gregg... don't you like me anymore?
  5. Sure looks like it...
  6. Obviously I don't have any "inside knowledge" of the situation, but simple common sense would indicate that if there was anything of consequence from the old JoHan tooling still around and in salvageable condition, either someone would have done it long ago, or sold the stuff to someone who was interested and able to make a go of it. My opinion: the fact that after all these years basically nothing regarding the "resurrection" of JoHan has happened tells me that it's not going to happen.
  7. Check out Duplicolor "Buckskin" (GM color) for the interior.
  8. Don't you think that if there was anything "left" of the real Johan, the new "Johan" would have put it into production by now???
  9. Whether or not "Johan" is finally going to disappear is hardly going to make a difference in the overall scheme of things. What currently passes for "Johan" has produced virtually nothing for many years... certainly far less than the average aftermarket resin casters. I've been hearing and reading of Johan's resurrection for years now, and the bottom line is, there's been nothing! Let's face it, if Johan was ever going to re-emerge as a viable entity, it would have done so years ago. Isn't it high time to pull the plug on this one?
  10. Kit? He don't need no stinkin' kit!!! Now that's scratchbuilding!
  11. Here's their address/order info: http://www.hometown.aol.com/vintagedecals/page1.html Looks like their web hosting service (aol hometown) is closing down... not the decal place themselves. They'll probably wind up being hosted elsewhere.
  12. How did they ever change a tire on those things???
  13. Since decal adhesive is water soluble, soaking the body long enough might just work to get those old decals off, but once they're off they'll be almost impossible to use. You'll most likely tear a couple, they'll curl up when they dry and will be brittle, you'll have no easy way to reapply them, etc. A much better way to go is just buy new decals. Here's one source: http://www.hometown.aol.com/vintagedecals/monogram.html
  14. uh... aren't you a bit early?
  15. It's custom made (hand made). Not a kit from a model company.
  16. You're too smart for this game...
  17. The voting was 2-1 in favor of MODEL... and you're right! It's a model. Extra credit: What scale is it??? Next ROM coming MONDAY!
  18. Works great. I downloaded the file in about 10 seconds.
  19. Like Neil Armstrong said... "That's one small step for a man..." What gets me is not that he didn't know how to post photos, but that after I told him how to do it he claimed it doesn't work!
  20. I gave him an instant answer! I told him how to post photos within minutes of his post. In fact I gave him 2 different ways to do it. He claimed he tried 6 times but it didn't work. Let's see... it works for everyone else, but he claims it "doesn't work". So where does that suggest the problem lies? With the site... or with whatever method he was using to try and post pictures?
  21. Thanks, Dave, for the info. I believe that Benz only manufactured about 90 of these cars over their 3 year production run (it was replaced by a 4 wheel version called the "Viktoria")...so with production numbers that low, dating from 120 years ago, I guess it's no surprise that none of the originals are still around!
  22. Who wouldn't want a chance to buy this car??? 2010 Renault Alpine...
  23. Reanault has come a long way since the LeCar! The LeCar was over 20 years ago! And the Yugo was from Yugoslavia, it had nothing to do with Renault. Neither did the Opel GT. The fact is, there are a lot of really cool European cars that aren't sold here, and it's our loss. I've seen enough Camrys and Accords to last me a lifetime...
  24. I also think they ought to be selling Renaults here. A little European style sure would counteract all the Hondas and Toyotas we see on our streets...
