?????? It was open for voting all week long! Where were you?

I have news for you. If you've EVER paid for anything with a credit card...heck, if you even just HAVE a credit card, your "information" is already out there in more places than you've ever imagined. How do you figure Experian, etc., calculates your credit score? With information on you and your monetary habits...lots of information. It's all already out there. With today's technology, it's basically impossible to be anonymous.

I've never built a model station wagon in my life...but this one is really tempting (with my "improved" roofline, of course!)
-
I think I may have made one change...
-
That's a great looking wagon, Bill. Very cool!

I assume you realize that you can put your money into a savings account and make interest on it? There are no fees involved with a savings account...you just put your money in and watch it grow. You can take out as much as you want whenever you want. If you don't want a checking account or a credit card, at least put some of your money into an interest-bearing savings account! Every day you have all your money sitting at home in cash, you're losing ground because inflation is eating away at the value of that cash. At least if you're getting interest you're making up for some of that inflationary loss and staying closer to breaking even. Or open up a CD account, where you put a certain amount in for a certain length of time (you decide how long) and earn interest on your money that way. Use your money to make money! Get with the 21st century, man! Then get a paypal account and join the rest of us...

You don't have a bank account or a credit card??? Where do you keep all your money, in a shoe box under the bed? Do you walk around with all your cash everywhere you go? I don't see how anyone with any common sense can think that using paypal is a bad thing. It protects both the buyer and the seller, and insures that every transaction is legit. Like Cal said, click, click, you're done in 30 seconds. No trip to go get a money order, no need for a stamp to mail it, no need to wait for days until it gets to the seller and he/she cashes it, etc. And ebay doesn't charge any fees to use paypal, so that argument is bogus, too. As either a buyer or a seller, wouldn't you want the ease, convenience and protection that paypal offers? If no, why in the world not??? I really don't see how anyone can argue against using paypal.

I have to let you guys win one every now and then...
-
So what's the problem with that? Anyone can sign up for a free paypal account (I have one). It's quick, easy and painless. You don't have to be able to accept credit cards as a seller... you only have to have a paypal account. Seems like a good idea to me. By eliminating payments by personal check, it will eliminate any shady dealings involving people writing bad checks. That's a good thing, not a bad thing! It will make ebay a better, safer place to do business. How is that in any way bad???

Anyone else have this problem ?

All I can say is, if BMF has to be stored in the refrigerator to keep it from going bad, then why doesn't BMF ship the stuff to retailers in refrigerated trucks? And why isn't the stuff on display at the LHS in refrigerated display cases??? Obviously, if room temp. causes BMF to go bad, the damage has been done long before you or I buy a sheet. After the stuff has been out on display at the LHS for God knows how long at room temperature, how does refrigerating it after we buy it make any sense? -
Hey, I'm just wakin' up! Remember, I'm an hour behind Detroit... Well, you guys were too smart on this one, it's REAL! Something about the car said "model" to me, but I guess most of you thought otherwise! Next ROM coming MONDAY!

Maybe you should have called the car "Zombie" instead!

Kudos to Mike and everyone else who's work is featured in the current "Sketchpad"!
-
As you know, the current MCM has a special "guest star" Sketchpad featuring art from four MCM readers/forum members. I hope you guys like the chance to see some of your fellow MCM readers artwork featured. I'd like to make the "special guest" Sketchpad an ongoing thing, so here's your chance to get in on the action again. If you have art that you'd like to have featured in an upcoming Sketchpad, send it my way. Just a few rules: 1. The art has to be your original art. Any medium is fine...watercolor, marker, pencil, digital...whatever. 2. The file you send me has to be reproduction quality. No low-res stuff...I prefer 300 dpi, but 180 will be ok. Nothing lower than that, though, or else it won''t reproduce clearly enough in print. File formats: jpeg, tiff, eps...basically anything, really. 3. I have to think it's good enough to use... 4. No cash compensation. Getting your work "in print" is reward enough! For anyone who's interested, send me a PM and I'll give you the email address to send it to. I know there's a lot of automotive artistry out there...let's see what you got! You may just see your art featured in an upcoming issue!

Looks like a pretty easy item to scratchbuild. Solder for the loop part (flatten the ends before bending to get the slightly flared shape) and brass or styrene tube or rod for the crossmember, wire bent into a loop for the eye.

Excellent work all around.

Wow!!! Underhood detailing is fantastic! The side pipe covers are great too. Are they PE, or did you do a wash on them? Either way, they look amazing...
