  1. Unfortunately, in our litigation-happy society, YES YOU CAN! People sue for stupid reasons all the time. The problem is the moron judges and juries that award these people damages! Remember the old lady who sued McDonalds when she spilled hot coffee on herself? She WON!
  2. Some cars have that already. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a system like that was made mandatory for all cars sometime soon.
  3. And speaking of "preferred parking"...have you seen those "Reserved for Mothers-to-be" parking spaces? I can't decide if they're for real or some sort of joke.
  4. I don't know about that! The whole point of a drive-thru is SPEED! Nobody sits in a backed-up drive-thru line burning gas "voluntarily". It does sound, though, like another of those "fixes" to the current high price of gas that wouldn't actually have any impact at all on gas prices. Just typical politicians doing typical politician-like things. All talk-no action.
  5. "You can fool some of the people all of the time"...
  6. That sign might be a joke, but here's something I heard that's apparently for real: There's talk among some politicians to ban drive-thru windows at fast food restaurants. Apparently all that idling by hundreds of customers in the drive-thru line of thousands of fast food joints every single day amounts to some serious waste of fuel. I have no idea if this would ever get off the ground, though. The fast food industry wouldn't like it very much, although if ALL of them couldn't have drive-thrus, at least they'd all be on a level playing field. Is it PC gone amok or a good idea that would save a couple million gallons of gas per year?
  7. I'm with Ed...I love the color, very nice! It contrasts well with the white interior. Nice job!
  8. Thank goodness! Ten pounds of baby is a LOT to deliver! Conratulations to you both.
  9. Typical...you never find what you need when you need it!
  10. You can get those cone-shaped cups anywhere...Walmart, fer instance, They're refills for home water dispensers. Solo is one brand...probably several more out there too.
  11. 9 pounds 12 ounces??? Geez...glad I'm a guy!!! Congratulations!!!
  12. Good idea. I'll spell it out next time.
  13. I agree. Copying someone else's work (especially if it's copyrighted) is asking for legal trouble. And licensing fees, even if the company was willing to license you to make reproductions, would be cost-prohibitive. After all, there's a reason that the tires on the new kits don't have manufacturer lettering on them anymore..
  14. A white bed cover, interior and wide whites would give you a nice retro look, but if you're looking for something a bit more unusual, try a tan or "buckskin" bedcover and interior. Edit: While I'm thinking about it, if you DO go with the white tonneau and interior, you might consider a white roof, as well.
  15. The earliest gas price I can remember was around 29.9, back in the 70s. And in those days THEY pumped your gas for you, AND gave you a nice set of dishes, or glasses, or whatever on top of it. And they offered to check the oil and tires. Low prices, great service...and somehow the oil companies did just fine. Boy, how things have changed.
  16. I think you're right. Both of us teamed up..all that intellect together in one place...we might just throw the earth off its axis! ok, we'll keep separated then. You work Jairus from the left, and I'll work Jairus from the...left!!!
  17. "Just as qualified"??? I'd say you're much more qualified to aggravate some people around here! Oh, the thought of us two aggravating the masses...how wickedly delicious! Mwaaaaaa-ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hah (that's my "evil laugh").
  18. Well, sure! But what about for the model boat?
  19. I just checked them out. Huge selection, but only 1 set of figures (steamboat passengers) that would be appropriate. And only 5-6 people in the set. Maybe I missed some...I'll keep looking!
  20. My job is to aggravate you guys...
  21. ok...since I love to stir the pot, I'm going to add my thoughts here... IMO, flocking doesn't look a whole lot like 1/24 scale automobile carpet. It looks like 1/24 scale shag rug...fine if you're building a 70s van, but in the interior of your factory-stock Lexus??? I think the deal with flocking is that since it's fuzzy, our brain tells us that it looks "realistic", but in reality it doesn't (to my eyes at least). Isn't most automotive carpet the looped pile kind? It has a smoother surface texture...more like an exagerrated vinyl roof texture than the deep-pile "furry" look of flocking. I think a more realistic look can be achieved with textured paint. But that's just me...
  22. That's exactly right. We've gone over this before, guys. If you KNOW the answer for sure, DON'T TELL EVERYONE ELSE WHAT THE ANSWER IS! That just ruins the whole thing for everyone! If you tell everyone that it's a photo of the "John Jones hot rod that I saw on TV last week" then you've just ruined the game for everyone else. Oh well...this one's over. I'll try again Monday...
