  1. And now Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor. What goes around comes around? You'll reap what you sow? Karma? All of the above?
  2. Stanley Cup Finals??? What's that?
  3. Very cool...
  4. I've had the chance to play around with Corel Draw. Compared to Photoshop, Corel Draw doesn't compare! I guess it's all what you're used to. If you started with Corel, it probably seems easy to use, but I found it needlessly complicated and clumsy. Photoshop seems much more intuitive to me, but that's probably because I've used it for years. I like the fact that Photoshop puts almost no restrictions on you...it lets you use it the way that's most comfortable for YOU, unlike for example Microsoft stuff, which seems to have a mind of its own and makes you do what IT wants to do. How people can work in Word or Powerpoint all day is beyond me... I'm just an Adobe fan from way back. Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc. Works for me.
  5. Whoa! Hold on there just a gol-dang minute! I've NEVER used Corel Draw, or any Coral software. EVER! I'm an Adobe fan. Nobody beats Photoshop and Illustrator. And yes, I do it on a Mac! (Although I do have a PC too, in case I feel like torturing myself with Windows Vista)...
  6. You bought a huge gas-swilling truck a year ago, but now your transportation needs can be filled just fine by a small 4-cylinder car. So when you bought the Ram...what were you thinking???
  7. So you finally joined up with the best online modeling forum, eh?
  8. How about a "Show us your.... Oh wait, never mind. This is a family site!
  9. Oh yes they do. "Volvo Driving Soccer Moms" by Everclear.
  10. ...workin' all day in my daddy's garage, drivin' all night chasin' some mirage... ...I'm riding down Kingsley, figuring I'll get a drink, Turn the radio up loud, so I don't have to think. I take her to the floor, looking for a moment when the world seems right, And I tear into the guts of something in the night... ...We drove eight hundred miles without seeing a cop, we got rock and roll music blasting off the T-top...
  11. ...barefoot girl sittin' on the hood of a Dodge... ...Hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard... ...Now there's girls melting on the beach, and they're so fine but so out of reach, cause I'm stuck in traffic down, here on 53rd Street... Now Sherry my love for you is real, but I didn't count on this package deal, and baby this car just ain't big enough for her and me... and then there's "Wreck on the Highway"...
  12. AMEN!!! If our government WANTED to do something...ANYTHING...about the oil situation, they would have acted by now. More exploration, price controls, building refineries, hydrogen power, solar power, wind power, etc., etc., etc. But obviously they have NOT acted. Why? Because, as Peter said, our country is run not by "we the people", as the Constitution states, but by the lobbyists who represent big business. Our government is run by the almighty dollar, and the welfare of the citizen is ignored. Instead, the welfare of the corporation is protected...at the expense of the citizens. And how's this for the ultimate example of government stupidity: They give tax breaks to the oil companies to "encourage" more oil production...yet they put up enormous obstacles (or ban outright) the oil companies from drilling and/or building new refineries. Huh???!!! Sad but true. But that situation can only last so long. Our government needs a functioning society and economy to sustain itself, and that society and economy is on shaky ground. How much longer can our government bilk its citizens?
  13. Well, technically my SON caused the car issues. He was using my car and hit a pothole so hard that he bent the rim and ruined the tire...so I had to get that fixed before I could go anywhere. Darn kids...
  14. Janis Joplin, "Mercedes Benz"... Beach Boys, "Fun Fun Fun" (til her daddy takes her T-bird away!)... ZZ Top, "Chevrolet"... I got a million of 'em!
  15. Tracy Chapman, "Fast Car"... Stray Cats, "Built for Speed" (maybe someone already mentioned that one?)... The Cars, "Drive" (what better band than the Cars to do a car-related song??? )... Doobie Brothers, "Rockin' Down the Highway"... Doors, "Roadhouse Blues" (keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel...) Jimi Hendrix, "Crosstown Traffic"... Hey, this is fun!
  16. I've heard that fiber works wonders...
  17. Beatles, "Drive My Car"... Led Zeppelin, "Trampled Underfoot"... (ok, the words refer to a car but I think we know what they're really TALKING ABOUT... )... Rolling Stones, "Brand New Car" (ditto on the car-lyrics-but-really-talking-about-something-else footnote... )... and this might be stretching the "car songs" idea a bit, but the Beatle's "Lovely Rita (Meter Maid)"...
  18. ooh ooh!!! Just thought of a few more... Eagles, "Old '55" (Tom Waits wrote it)... Bruce Springsteen, "Cadillac Ranch" and "Racing in the Street" (I got a '69 Chevy with a 396, fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor...) Prince, "Little Red Corvette"...
  19. In the news this morning... "General Motors is closing four truck and SUV plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico as surging fuel prices hasten a dramatic shift to smaller vehicles. CEO Rick Wagoner said Tuesday before the automaker's annual meeting in Delaware the plants to be closed are in Oshawa, Ontario; Moraine, Ohio; Janesville, Wis.; and Toluca, Mexico. He also said the Hummer brand may be discontinued."
  20. I had a little car trouble yesterday that I had to get fixed...so no time at the computer. But I'm BACK! Here you go...real or model? The answer: MODEL!
  21. Oh, you better believe I could! But I didn't.
  22. I managed to fool a few of you, but most of you got it right...it's REAL! Next ROM coming Monday...if I can find a picture good enough to fool you guys!
  23. I don't know what the Chrysler/ Mitsubishi situation is at this time, but it was still alive and well a few years ago. My current car is a 2001 Dodge Stratus RT coupe...which is nothing more than a Mitsubishi Eclipse under different sheet metal. All Mitsu mechanicals, even the dash and interior trim is the same as the Eclipse. In fact, a few years ago I bought one of those faux "carbon fiber" interior dress-up kits. I didn't buy the "Dodge Stratus" kit, but instead I bought the "Mitsubishi Eclipse" kit, because it had more pieces! It all fits my "Dodge" interior perfectly!!! Oooops...looks like I fell hook, line and sinker for "badge engineering" myself!!!
