  1. No Rain, Blind Melon. We need more cowbell!
  2. Yes, current replacement cost.
  3. Interesting. I knew Kaiser was into all sorts of consumer goods, didn't realize Crosley was, too.
  4. Brett... correct on all counts.
  5. Nice clean work, Ken. Photoetched grille?
  6. I had no idea Crosley made those things!
  7. I get insurance quotes all the time, just to be sure I'm not overpaying. Recently I had Geico quote me a direct, apples-to-apples comparison to what I currently was paying with Allstate on my car insurance. The Geico price for the same exact coverage was just about exactly HALF what Allstate was charging me. I realize that insurance rates vary wildly... depends on your age, sex, location, type of car, how many miles you drive, your driving record, other drivers on the policy, whether you park the car in a garage at night, etc., etc. But it PAYS to shop around. Geico didn't save me 15% in 15 minutes... they saved me HALF. I can't guarantee that you will find similar savings, but you owe it to yourself to shop around, constantly. Edit: Strangely enough, I have had Allstate homeowner's insurance since forever, and my yearly premium is barely higher than it was 20 years ago. Strange. But I'm not complaining...
  8. When you consider the number of items successfully delivered by USPS every day, it's pretty amazing. Yes, there are screw-ups. But there are also screw-ups at FedEx and UPS. Overall, I think they're doing a pretty good job. They are not losing money due to poor performance. The reason they're losing so much money is largely politically based, and we can't talk about that here.
  9. It's very poorly proportioned, that's the problem. If you do nothing else but stretch it out a bit, lengthen the trunk, and add slightly larger wheels, it almost looks like a normal car!
  10. I know you made the top red to go with the red interior accents, but IMO the red top and the purple body don't work together. I would have gone with the top being the same lighter purple as the interior and running boards, or a light tan. Just my opinion, of course.
  11. Casey is still officially a moderator, but he has personal issues right now that limit his time here, so you'll be seeing a lot less of him, moderator or not.
  12. The Challenger matches the Mustang even though it weighs more. So which has the better performance numbers?
  13. You said the Mustang tops all the performance numbers. It doesn't. Shelby 0-60: 3.5, quarter mile in 11.8 Challenger 0-60: 3.7, quarter mile in 11.7 Looks pretty even to me.
  14. My salary as a moderator wouldn't cover the cost of a brochure...
  15. Challenger Hellcat: 707 HP, 650 lb/ft torque Mustang GT500: 662 HP, 631 lb/ft torque.
  16. I agree with you. I've been building models for over 40 years and so far have never built the same kit more than once.
  17. Especially when you consider that looking in on the Big Boyz section is free.
  18. Obviously there are costs associated with reissuing a kit. But the single largest cost... the design and engineering and tooling... has been bought and paid for, especially on kits that have been reissued several times. But the fact remains that a kit manufacturer will make more profit per unit on a reissued kit than on a newly designed, engineered and tooled kit. So like I said... as long as people keep buying reissued kits, they're going to keep on selling reissued kits. It's not rocket science, it's Business 101.
  19. That engine, to put it in simple terms, is freakin' awesome. And don't feel bad for one second about not adding all of the details laid out in those superdetailing sheets I sent you. I started to, realized very quickly that even a RR expert would miss most of them, and I didn't have the time or patience to add them all... and decided to go with a sane level of detail. Otherwise, one Pocher RR could easily become one's life's work!
  20. I just heard on the radio that they are breaking 75-year old records for rainfall in Phoenix. "It never rains in California, but girl don't they warn ya, It pours. Man, it pours."
  21. Remember, don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 2014 Tata Zest
