  1. That's one big, beautiful barge!
  2. I agree with Rob. Painting everything body color (door handles, window trim, wipers, scripts and emblems, etc.) gives a very "toy like" appearance. Foiling those items will make your model look a lot more like a scale replica. But it looks like you have your painting down cold... it looks very good.
  3. It's a spoke nipple from a Pocher wheel!
  4. Another weird yet good cover. Can't explain the pineapple, though...
  5. Thank you!
  6. One of my all-time favorite songs is Neil Young's "Heart of Gold." I like to surf youtube for cover versions of songs I like... I've found some amazing cover versions, everything from the ridiculous to the sublime. This one falls somewhere in between. Definitely over the top, weird, crazy, etc. I mean, the white robes and all... not quite sure what to make of this. It's a very unique version, but in an odd way, I like it!
  7. "Speed limits?"
  8. I guess so...
  9. http://www.google.com/#q=detroit+hobby+shops&safe=off
  10. I know what you mean! When you're driving a car with '60s-'70s era brakes, you have to plan your stops ahead of time!
  11. Yeah, muscle cars were good in the "go" department, not so much in the "stop" department! I have a '67 Impale 327. Not really a "muscle car," but a perfect example of '60s engineering. I remember the first time I took the car for a test drive and tried to stop. I thought the brakes were broken!
  12. You are killing me!
  13. Most '60s-'70s muscle cars were known for their lousy handling!
  14. Bruce, that's pretty much what "spring" looks like here too! We got anywhere from 3 to 8 inches last night, depending on where in the metro area you are. And oh yeah... the forecast calls for a low of 8º F tonight. The all-time record cold for this date is 6º, set in 1896!!! Global warming, where are you?
  15. I really like how you "dirtied up" everything a bit. It adds to the realism and takes away the "model car" look and instead looks much more like a real car.
  16. Nicely done! Sharp, crisp, and clean. Your workmanship is outstanding.
  17. Hmmm... I've posted probably a couple of dozen of my models here by now. Maybe you need to pay closer attention!
  18. That combination is impossible in most cases.
  19. This question has been debated here several times already. And every time, we came to the same conclusion: There is no single, universal definition of "muscle car" that everyone agrees on. And there never will be.
  20. If the kit manufacturers were confident enough they would sell to justify releasing them back in the '60s and '70s, when most modelers were kids, wouldn't it seem that now, when most modelers are adults, that subjects like these would have an even greater appeal than they did "back in the day" when most modelers were kids?
  21. Pretty cool looking Chevy.
  22. Beautiful model to be sure. The wire wheels really set it off nicely.
  23. He quit the forum quite a while ago.
  24. To those of you who asked if this shouldn't have been in the "Big Boyz" section... I did post the WIP there, trying to follow forum rules. But as far as where to post the finished product... that's a little fuzzy. The "Under Glass" area doesn't have any scale restrictions, it just says "post your finished models here"... which I did. There are other gray areas of the forum... for example, do finished drag models need to be posted only in the Drag section? Do finished NASCAR models need to be posted only in the NASCAR section? There are plenty of both posted "Under Glass," and that's ok by me. I have said many times that we have some areas of the forum that need to be changed. But as long as we have what we have, there are always going to be those times where a model could conceivably be posted in a couple of different areas.
