  1. Yuri, that is fantastic! An absolutely stunning model in every way. You are a very talented man.
  2. Thanks, Don. Gregg wants large scale models separated from the rest. Don't really know why, but it's his forum.
  3. I just saw it. And you are absolutely correct! I don't think even one single factory-stock Matador came off the assembly line without any mirrors.
  4. Offend our sensibilities.
  5. An open-minded person could conceivably think this thing is ridiculous, and still be an open-minded person. I mean, an open-minded person is allowed to have an opinion. Right?
  6. I just got an email from ebay... my ITC Mercer has shipped! Woo Hoo! Man, we've been having quite a little "brass age" revival around here lately. I love it!
  7. There's no manual override?
  8. Nice model!
  9. My guess is it's highly weathered and oxidized black, which would turn gray as it weathered and oxidized. Of course, if you want to recreate the look of oxidized black you'll probably want to actually use a dark gray to begin with.
  10. Play nice, kids. Don't want another topic locked. We are all adults here (ok, we have some teenage members, but the vast majority are adults). So let's act like it. We can disagree without being disagreeable, can't we? And can we please retire that old "go build something" remark permanently? Seriously, if that's the most insightful comment you have to make, maybe it's better not to comment. And that's not directed at anyone specifically... I've seen that comment used over and over again by a lot of different people, and it never comes off making the person using it look particularly good. Edit: Oops. Too late. I see it's already been locked. Another one bites the dust...
  11. And that's exactly the point that some of us are trying to make. When you use the word "build" to mean "model car," some of us think it sounds a bit... affected. Yes, a lot of people call a model a "build," that's not in dispute. It just sounds awkward to some of us. Not right ot wrong... just awkward.
  12. At the end of the day... I could care less.
  13. ok, the obvious question... how did you do the stitching so perfectly at that small size? Or how did you do it, period?
  14. Anybody who can use the word "pedantic" on a model car forum (oops, I mean a "build" forum) is ok by me!
  15. Of course, the obvious question is... how accurate is that readout?
  16. Whatchoo talkin' bout, Willis?
  17. Ron, that photo is fine. No problems at all. See... you can do it!
  18. Should we change the name of the magazine to "Builds" Magazine?
  19. If a finished model is a "build," then a finished house is a "build." Hey, that's a real nice "build" you live in... A model car.
  20. I know it's widely accepted to call a finished model a "build." I'm not saying it's "wrong." But for some reason it just sounds goofy to me to call a model car a "build."
  21. Hearing a model called a "build" is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Like every time I hear someone use the phrase "I could care less" or "at the end of the day..." You build a model. The finished product is a model, not a "build." But that's just me. Your opinion may vary...
  22. Like the Who said... can't explain...
