  1. Thanks, Rich... but lately I have had no desire to build. I feel like crap every day and that's the one thing on my mind constantly. I just hope they will be able to figure out what's wrong with me and fix it. I've had just about enough of this... it's been going on for months.
  2. I don't think I want to start up with that. It's just substituting one drug for another. In either case I'd still be relying on drugs to feel ok.
  3. I have had a series of tests... EKG, blood, urine. X-rays of my left hip (where the pain is), and chest X-rays. All have come back normal. Normal blood pressure, normal white blood cell count, normal blood sugar level... normal, normal, normal. I have an appointment with an orthopedic specialist on Monday. Pretty sure he will want me to have an MRI done on my hip in order to see what's going on there. In the meantime, the docs have given me plenty of nerve pills and muscle relaxants to get me through.
  4. Aw man, now you've gone and done it. Blew a huge hole through everyone's favorite model building myth. What's next? You gonna tell us that decals and foil don't need to be "sealed" under clear?
  5. To appraise something is to determine its worth or value, as in determining the value of a 17th century chest of drawers. An appraisal is not a commentary on the object's quality of construction, but an estimate of its value. When we comment on a model, we are not making an appraisal.
  6. If this is a Heller kit, why does the box say Airfix?
  7. Ray, why the apology for the model? From what I can see, it looks great! I think you did a fine job on it.
  8. The only Krate I ever owned is this 1/6 scale model from Xonex...
  9. A movie critic, a restaurant critic, a book critic, etc., gives his/her opinion, good or bad. So criticism isn't only negative.
  10. I remember them both, but never had either one.
  11. Yeah, I was pretty jealous when he got that bike.
  12. Pretty good job overall, but man, that's a lotta white! I think it would really cool if you painted the hood flat black like the ones here: https://www.google.com/search?q=1973+mustang+mach+1&biw=1030&bih=566&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwi6pYWa4cHNAhWEOCYKHZr3AwEQ_AUIBigB
  13. My cousin, who lived next door, had a really cool bike. I don't remember the name, but it was a "stingray" style bike, purple, with the big shifter. But what made it different was that the frame was sort of stretched... it was a lot longer than a typical stingray bike. It almost looked like it was a custom bike, but I know it was store-bought. Anyone else remember those "stretched" bikes and who made them? Edit: I found it! Found this via google, but still don't know the manufacturer. Anyone?
  14. He didn't specify any exact model.

  16. I have no idea what that means, but they both sound pretty similar to me!
  17. Yes, the exact right spot... and thanks for bothering to do so. Way too many members post stuff all over the place with no regard for where they should post. That makes my life interesting, and not in a good way.
  18. As long as you didn't use a Fiat or Trabant, I think you're ok!
  19. My friend Bob had a Raleigh Chopper, but none of the rest of us ever had a Schwinn Krate. Way too pricey for the blue-collar parents we all had. That was back in the late '60s, when my parents paid $50 a month to rent our apartment. No way were they going to buy me a bike that cost more than two months rent! But man, did we ever lust after them!
  20. What's keeping the hood from closing?
  21. Mattel actually made a complete Vroom bike...
