  1. Another thing... here in Chicago they have the "official" lakefront fireworks display on July 3rd. Why???
  2. Idiots here are already shooting off fireworks! It's July 1, morons! Hold your fire...
  3. Wow! That's a real beauty! Very slick. Great job, Al.
  4. By now I assume most of you have received the latest issue?
  5. You mean nice model. You build (verb) a model (noun).
  6. Or just get a Photobucket account, fer cryin' out loud! It's FREE!
  7. Not a fan of the flames–the car would have looked a lot cleaner without them. But man oh man, your engine compartment is bee-yoo-tiful! Very nice work.
  8. Nice work, Sam. It looks ready for a summer cruise...
  9. But well worth the effort. Leaving them as plain transparent pieces just doesn't work.
  10. I've driven nothing but manual trans cars since 1983 (except for the wife's automatics), and pretty much wouldn't want to go automatic. I like driving, and I like the connection you have with the car when it's a stick. Except when I'm sitting in heavy traffic. My Mustang's clutch takes quite a bit of effort, and man, your leg can get real tired after 15-20 minutes of crawling in stop and go traffic. Too bad they don't have an "automatic" switch for situations like that!
  11. Tulio, the lights on your model look great. I think Tim needs to do what you did.
  12. The Tesla continued on and ran into a telephone pole a quarter mile away. And the truck driver could hear the movie playing in a car a quarter of a mile away? I doubt it. The trucker's story doesn't add up.
  13. Are the backup lights missing? All I see is the holes where they're supposed to go.
  14. So the Tesla ran into (and under) the trailer at 90 degrees to the truck? If so, how on earth would the truck driver know that the Tesla driver was watching a Harry Potter movie? There's no way the truck driver could have seen the car's screen. And Tesla says it's impossible to watch a movie on the car's screen, anyway. Something doesn't add up here.
  15. That's pretty much what I've decided to do.
  16. Not a bad looking car, but yikes! That color isn't doing it any favors! It needs to be a little stealthier...
  17. Good to hear she's doing ok!
  18. Very unusual! I like it!
  19. I build under a magnifier about 75% of the time. That's how I am able to do stuff like this... I think if you try it, you might like it.
  20. Maybe. I might just go with the louvers as is, and use a black wash to "open" them visually. Don't know yet what the ultimate solution will be. But I have to do something to make them look more real. And there's no way I'm going to use a Dremel to actually open them all up. I don't have that much time left on this earth!
  21. Very nice!
  22. I'm sure you can improve the foil work. You're a pretty talented guy. If you have a magnifier desk lamp, that would help.
  23. But steel chain isn't going to replicate steel cable.
