Just an FYI... there is no selling allowed here. I edited your post.

I didn't do a work in progress on this one, just posted the finished product. And only here, no place else.

Nice job! I like '70s-era funny cars... when the bodies still looked more or less like the "real car." Not a fan of what the funny car has evolved into... sort of like the current NASCAR cars... they all look alike and nothing like a "real" car anymore. But I like those '70s-era ones! Very nice job, Bruno.

Glad to hear it.

Chris, PM sent to you.

Box art doesn't make one bit of difference. I buy kits of subjects that interest me. Box art is competely immaterial.

So where was your answer? Should have PM'd me...

Question about where to post.

Tom, a lot of the things you mentioned are a function of the software we use, which is a commonly used forum software. We didn't create the software or have any control over its features or functionality. It's true that there are a lot of features and functions that are available to forum members that are not immediately obvious, but expecting the moderators to hold some sort of "forum software 101" class to explain every single feature or function is a stretch. It's not our job to teach people how forum software works. However...if anyone has a question about anything forum related, we are just a PM away. I always answer every PM I get. -
Thanks, guys! Randy, the Fiat is the perfect choice if you've never built a Pocher before. No fenders, no opening doors, no roll-up windows, no individually spoked wheels ,etc... yet it's still nicely detailed and builds into a very convincing replica. Here's mine: It's the perfect choice for a first ever Pocher build.

Beautiful work.

A completely inaccurate "gasser" (not sure how many would have had windshield wipers!... but that's on Monogram, not you), but you did a very nice job on it! Well done.

Question about where to post.
Harry P. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the average new member can figure things out in a few minutes. It's not a mystery... we have certain categories for certain things. Every category has a detailed description as to what should go there. And if anyone has a problem figuring things out, all they have to do is ask, either publicly or via PM to me or Casey. Most online forums follow this same format, so unless a person has never seen another model car (or any other) forum before, I don't think this one should pose any sort of problem for them. -

A very basic, simplified kit... but you did a heck of a job on it. Nice!

I agree with you. The damage thing is a big problem. I don't know if the weight of the paper is the problem, but who knows... it might have something to do with it. BTW... GBP is a privately held company, there are no stockholders.

Why is there a cooling fan on the engine?

Question about where to post.
Harry P. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This forum is "overly organized?" The whole point of being organized and having specific categories is to make it easier for members. Easier to find the things you're interested in, and easier to avoid the things you're not interested in. If, for example, you have no interests in model trucks, you can completely ignore that section. Or if you like to read about other peoples tricks and tutorials, you know exactly where to find them. I don't see how an organized forum is a problem. But apparently you do. To each his own. -
Question about where to post.
Harry P. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good point. I wasn't "shouting" or angry... just curious. But I see what you mean about the tone of a written post being misunderstood. I've always tried to be careful about that... trying to word my posts so there can't be any misunderstanding of intent. But it doesn't always work. It's something we all (me included) need to keep in mind. -
Exactly!

One thing you can say about Cranky... he's very enthusiastic! -
Question about where to post.
Harry P. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No, that's me asking him a very simple question. If he likes the way another board works, and he dislikes how this one works, then why does he choose to be here? That's a completely logical and pertinent question that has absolutely nothing to do with telling him to leave. -
Question about where to post.
Harry P. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think you need to read my question more carefully. Nowhere did I say he should leave. Heck, I don't want any members to leave. But when someone tells us how much better another forum is, and they complain about this one, isn't it a fair question to ask them why they choose to stay on a forum that they don't like? -
Question about where to post.
Harry P. replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's true that that forum has no categories, no order or organization... it's just every post one after the other, regardless of topic. That's one way to do it. We don't believe in that sort of arrangement here, we do things very differently. Ok, so I have to ask... if that forum is everything you want a forum to be, and this one is not, why are you here? I'm not trying to be a wise guy, I'm seriously asking. There are a lot of model car forums out there. If you like one of the others so well and you don't like this one so much, why are you a member here? -

And that's the forum's fault?
