  1. Niko... congratulations to you for asking for and accepting critiques. You "get it" as far as how a forum can work to make us all better modelers. Thanks for posting this one... we all look forward to your next one! Yes! Do it!
  2. "Saving" the brakes by putting unnecessary stress/strain/wear on the whole drivetrain? I can't imagine why anyone would teach that. Downshifting may be normal when driving a truck, but completely useless driving a car. I've been driving manual trans cars since 1984... I have never had to replace a clutch. Probably because I have never used downshifting to slow the car.
  3. I never understood why some people downshift to slow down a car. There's a reason that a car has a braking system, and the clutch isn't a part of it!

Might want to check on that windshield...
  5. When you think of the complexity of that... the dozens of steps, hundreds of complex machines, thousands and thousands of pieces, everything working in synch, day in and day out... pretty amazing.
  6. Well, at least some of you are happy about the subject! Actually, while I have very little interest in any Ferrari kit, I do think it's pretty cool that they're bringing back the Pocher brand. I hope the quality and detail level of the upcoming kit is better than their previous Ferrari kits. And I hope this is only the first of many new kits from them. Heck, depending on the reviews of this one, I might just buy one anyway... just to show my support.
  7. If this is the new Pocher kit, all I can say is what a letdown.
  8. There's no answer to this question that will directly apply to you. Depends on the car, and the driver. One guy can get 100,000 miles+ and another guy can't get to 50,000. It all depends on how you use it. Too many variables; giving you my personal results is absolutely irrelevant to your own situation. It's like asking everyone what their shirt size is before you buy one for yourself.
  9. Looks good!
  10. My critique: Pros: Overall, it looks very good. Paint looks good, underhood detail is outstanding, interior and dashboard detail is also very well done (that steering wheel hub looks like the real thing!). Cons: You should have worked the hood to get a better fit before you painted, and some of your foil work is a bit ragged along the edges (always use a sharp blade!). Overall, I say well done! It looks beautiful, and is definitely a model you can be proud of!
  11. Guys, that tarp image is just a generic thing, it's not the real model under a real tarp! It's just a generic "coming soon" icon. I doubt very much that the new Pocher kit would be a Pontiac!
  12. Remember... do NOT post any hints or answers here! PM me with specific year, make and model. The answer 2008-2010 Volga Siber
  13. Assuming the model is accurate.
  14. It's sort of like an internal or "in house" photo sharing site. Kind of like having our own Photobucket or Fotki within the forum itself. The rules for what's acceptable to post in the gallery are the same as the rules that apply to the rest of the forum.
  15. Not necessarily...
  16. Wow! Now that's dedication to the hobby!
  17. Exactly. You can never have too much knowledge. And arguing your position based on knowledge rather than emotion is always a good thing!
  18. Final vote: 9 REAL, 44 MODEL. And you guys got it... it's a model!
  19. I like the red Mustang best...
  20. Here's a look inside the box:
