  1. You do realize it'll be a long wait, right? This thing isn't going to be available until the fall.
  2. That has to be one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen...
  3. I also tried the new version and didn't like it, so I went back to the old. But I guess they're going to retire the old version once and for all. Oh well... at least it's still free!
  4. Let's leave it up to the moderators to decide when a thread needs to be locked.
  5. Well, this was certainly a helpful tutorial...
  6. Pretty nice! I like the color.
  7. Nice "old school" custom!

    1988 Daytona

Talk about going down memory lane... I used to have an '84 Daytona Turbo Z... the one that was red on top and had the silver lower half and all the "aero" stuff. Great car, loved the turbo... until it fried and died. Nice model!
  9. A blown flathead! Now there's something you don't see on every Tom, Dick and Harry's hot rod!
  10. I'm no expert (not even close)... but it seems to me that the relative simplicity of a blower setup (vs. a fairly complex and fussy mechanical FI setup) would have been a lot more "streetable" back in the day before computerized FI became common.
  11. Nothing like a few cans of "Shoveler's Ale" to help out!
  12. Looks much better in blue than that green!
  13. 30"! Geez Charlie, the forecast was right! You guys really got smacked... the same storm passed through here a day before it got to you and we only got maybe 3 inches at most.
  14. Welcome aboard! It's always nice to get a new member.
  15. Right... the manufacturer decides what's "good enough." But ultimately it's the consumer who really decides whether it's "good enough." The vast majority of people who will buy this kit either don't know about all the mistakes, or they really just don't care, or both. True enough. But the fact that "good enough" is good enough for most buyers (and by extension a good business move by the manufacturer to cut whatever corners they figure they can get away with) doesn't mean that those modelers who expect more accuracy and fewer obvious mistakes in a newly-tooled kit are supposed to just sit there and shut up. Especially not on a model car forum!
  16. Regarding posts #488 and #490... Well said, gentlemen. You can't hit the nail any more on the head than the both of you did in those two posts. If anyone reads any of this thread, those two posts are the "must reads" that should put the tired old "perfect model" nonsense to bed once and for all.
  17. Geez, you didn't have to rub it in!
  18. Wow! Travel is banned! That's serious.
  19. Not only is the humidity in Florida a killer, the bugs down there are the size of model airplanes...
  20. Wow. I hope you're stocked up on provisions. You might not be able to survive those frigid temps if you had to leave the house for any reason!
  21. You're right, getting the curved handrails to the exact right shape wasn't easy. Probably the single hardest step of the whole building process.
  22. They must think you're some sort of end-of-the-world apocalypse whackjob type! De-icer in Arizona... hmmm... what does that guy know that we don't know...
  23. When people see it, do they know what it is?
