  1. Wow! What a great video flashback to better days. A bit before my time, but very cool. I love the cars and the music. Wish I had been about 17 or 18 back in the fifties, it seems like a great time to have been young and carefree. My teenage years came about 20 years later, but I would love to have been there.
  2. I hope the place that stores your cars has insurance. Don't feel bad... my son's car was stolen the day after Christmas.
  3. A few "Deep Thoughts" classics: If you ever crawl inside an old hollow log and go to sleep, and while you're in there some guys come and seal up both ends and then put it on a truck and take it to another city... boy, I don't know what to tell you. Instead of studying for finals, what about just going to the Bahamas and catching some rays instead? Maybe you'll flunk, but you might have flunked anyway; that's my point. If I had a mine shaft, I don't think I would just abandon it. There's got to be a better way. To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" You can say, "Sorry, got these sacks." Instead of having "answers" on a math test, they should just call them "impressions," and if you got a different "impression," so what, can't we all be brothers? I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because man, they'd never expect it. I remember how my great-uncle Jerry would sit on the porch and whittle all day long. Once he whittled me a toy boat out of a larger toy boat I had. It was almost as good as the first one, except now it had bumpy whittle marks all over it. And no paint, because he had whittled off the paint. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man. Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind." Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind. The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part. When you go in for a job interview, I think a good thing to ask is if they ever press charges.
  4. Those remind me of "Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handey: http://www.asms.net/facultymanaged/bmcph/fun/jhandy.html
  5. Remember... don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1918 Stanley Steamer Model 735B
  6. I think we just had the very same discussion on a thread not too long ago.
  7. Steven Wright is great. Funny guy and very clever.
  8. I lost an almost finished Pocher kit once. Somehow it got lost in the shuffle during a move and I think it was mistakenly thrown out along with boxes of junk, because it just vanished! And it was my first ever Pocher, too...
  9. I build cars too. Check out the Big Boyz section for my latest one.
  10. So then why did cabovers ever become popular in the first place?
  11. Imagine the ride from St. Louis to San Francisco!
  12. I've never seen one in person, but you're right that they're heavy even when empty. Imagine trying to pull that thing up a steep dirt path or gravel road fully loaded. I feel sorry for the horses!
  13. Wow... if you're this much fun sober, imagine how you'd be after a few drinks!
  14. Nice work, Bernard! Love the hood louvers. And I like how you itemize all the work you did, without that we wouldn't know the effort that you put into this model. Tell me more about the louvers. Are they actually 3D? Are they rub ons, like dry-transfer lettering?
  15. Had a few cocktails tonight?
  16. It was a pretty specialized skill back in the day. Not just anyone had the skill to build wheels, you really had to know your craft.
  17. Careful, boys... you're getting very close to the kinds of comments that cause the mods to shut things down.
  18. They are made by Model Trailways and are available from Model Expo. http://www.modelexpo-online.com/page.asp?lp=1005 The kits have pretty high retail prices, but they are constantly on sale. You just have to check in every so often and see if they are on sale. Since I have already ordered from them in the past I get all the sale email flyers... not sure how it works if you've never ordered from them. If you are serious about wanting to buy one of the kits, PM me and I can send you the special sale offer code that you would need to get the sale price.
  19. Thank you, Terry!
  20. Uh... didn't they miss the playoffs?
  21. Nicely done! And good to see that you're getting more "bang for your buck" from Starbucks than their average customer!
  22. Nice job opening the doors and hinging the canopy!
  23. Now that was well said! And funny!
