  1. I agree that the government is behind all of this. It's not the "free market" demanding 15% ethanol.
  2. But all the corn growers here in Illinois and Iowa just love it...
  3. Funny thing is, the gas station has pamphlets saying how this new 15% mix causes less pollution and emissions.
  4. See, now, there's another problem. The government claims that it has done extensive research... and that's why the EPA says ok to use in any post-2001 vehicle. But then again, the government claimed that if you liked your doctor, you could keep your doctor. So much for government claims...
  5. I like baklava! Sorry, Charlie... couldn't help myself...
  6. Yeah, I saw all those reports when I was googling this stuff earlier today. What I really don't understand is that if this stuff can damage so many cars, why is it being sold? Isn't this just opening up a huge can of worms of lawsuits down the road?
  7. nanu nanu...
  8. Is "mechanic" now politically incorrect? Like stewardesses are now "flight attendants" and waitresses are now "servers?"
  9. No worries, Charlie. I was just messin' with ya! If I had actually thought you were getting "religious," I would have deleted it.
  10. Well, of course! I knew that! It's all about government subsidies to the corn growers here in the midwest. But politics aside, I still want to know if I can use the stuff!
  11. Google image search is every model car builder's best friend...
  12. That's the basic complaint with this kit. A big deal to some, not to others.
  13. I talked to two Ford techs today at my "friendly neighborhood Ford dealer." They had no clue. This 15% stuff is brand new here on the market in my area... nobody has any answers. Of course, the gas station will tell you it's perfectly ok... but then again, they sell the stuff! I need an unbiased opinion.
  14. Again, the question isn't about non-ethanol gas. My car runs fine on the 10% ethanol mix all the stations in my area sell. My question is will it also run fine on 15% ethanol?
  15. Hmm... lessee... Actually, the Assyrians don't have a church of their own...since Christianity existed...Due to that lack of territory, the Assyrians have never established a culturally/ethnically-distinct church. As a result, most Assyrians are either Melkite or Maronite Catholics; a substantial number of them are also any of the several Orthodox churches doting the region. Generally, the local Assyrians attended whatever denomination of church was convenient to them. Yep, I guess you're right. No mention of religion that I can see...
  16. None near me. It's all 10% ethanol. Or now, also a choice of the 15% stuff. But that's not my point. I've run my car on the 10% ethanol mix since the day I bought it. That's not my question. My question is can I run it on this newly available 15% ethanol mix, which is just now coming out in my area.
  17. Glad to see you're following the "No politics or religion" rule!
  18. The side trim has an obvious arc to it as it runs front to back, on the real car that trim is arrow straight.
  19. They aren't calling E85 Unleaded15. They are two completely different things. E85 is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline. It's been around a while, and can only be used in "flex fuel" vehicles. E15 is 15% ethanol, 85% gasoline. It's brand new here in the Chicago area, and is being marketed as ok to use in any car 2001 or newer.
  20. We played slow-pitch softball in the park, on the BB diamond. Never stickball, that is definitely a Noo Yawk thing. We played touch football in the alley, whiffleball in the park's tennis courts (this was back in the day when nobody ever played tennis!)... we played Four Square (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_square), Pinner (http://uptownhistory.compassrose.org/2011/05/pinner-or-pin-er-whos-got-tennis-ball.html), and Catch One, Catch All after it got dark.
  21. One of my friends had one of those.
  22. Yeah, I've gotten enough negative opinions that I think I'll steer clear of the stuff.
  23. Never heard of that. An east coast thing, maybe?
