    31 Ford

    That's kool!
  2. Nice, but those huge mold seam lines on the sides of the bumpers should have been dealt with. Sanded smooth, then either foiled, or Alclad, or Spaz Stix.
  3. No problem. You'll be mailing me a check?
  4. I'm looking around online and finding a lot of scary stories regarding voided warranties, etc. My owner's manual says not to use anything above 10% ethanol... but my owner's manual was written in 2007, when 15% ethanol wasn't available. The EPA says any car built after 2001 is ok, and there has supposedly been a lot of government testing done... BUT the EPA and the corn growers are probably in cahoots. I'm not sure if I can trust the EPA's "a-ok." Like I said, the stuff is labeled 88 octane, which is better than the 87 I use now. And it's cheaper. So... higher octane plus lower cost... I'd really like to try the stuff, but I'm afraid it'll harm my car somehow.
  5. I'm not talking about E85, but E15 (or what the gas station calls "Unleaded15." No way can my car run on E85, I already know that.
  6. The local Thornton's just installed new tanks and pumps, to offer what they call "Unleaded15." It's 85% gas, 15% ethanol. It's labeled as 88 octane, which is higher than the "normal" unleaded 87 rating. Two questions: How can a gas blended with 15% ethanol have a higher octane that one blended with 10% ethanol? And is this stuff ok to use in a 2007 Mustang GT? Any of you guys use it? My owner's manual says using fuel with more than 10% ethanol is not recommended, but the EPA says any car 2001 or newer can use it. I'm confused...
  7. You can thin craft paint with plain water.
  8. You have a friend who was in first grade in 1927? He would be nearly a hundred years old now!
  9. Here's a very simple fix to the "standing in line" problem. Doors for entrants open at 8AM. Show for the general public begins at 11AM.
  10. Clean, for sure. But would really benefit from some foiling of the window trim to take away that "model" look. Also a bit more attention to detail, like painting the horns steel instead of just body color.
  11. We had the same choices, plus Latin. Naturally I took German (easy A!)... I took two semesters... one taught by a man, the other taught by a very stout Cherman Voman... I forgot her real name, but we all called her Frau Cow!
  12. Hmmm... I just did Sharon Stone a page or two ago... Are we into reruns now?
  13. The only Hare Krishna mentions were in the song "My Sweet Lord," done by the Beach Boys, of all people! Well, not all the Beach Boys; just two of them (Brian Wilson and Al Jardine).
  14. Another good one... Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction doing a version of "Here Comes the Sun" that's pretty faithful to the Beatles' original...
  15. The best one, IMO. Ann Wilson doing "Beware of Darkness." If you're a fan of George Harrison's music, check out Georgefest on youtube. Of course, these videos taken by people on their cell phones from the audience have pretty krappy sound. The PBS special had flawless sound.
  16. Lots of really good Harrison covers. Another unexpected one... Conan O'Brien doing "Old Brown Shoe!"
  17. So the other day the local PBS station aired a concert that took place in late 2014 to honor George Harrison. Lots of big names doing covers of George's best songs... his son Dhani was on stage (he looks and sounds exactly like his dad!)... but of all people, Weird Al Yankovic did a pretty straightforward (no comedy or parody) version of "What is Life?" I have never seen Weird Al do a "straight" interpretation of a song, and yeah, his on-stage antics were a little over the top, but he did the song pretty much seriously...
  18. Like I said... if it's a "custom" top then anything goes.
  19. Yeah, a Mercedes would have an interior liner. Not a typical Ford hot rod. And in any case, the interior framework and top bows wouldn't be white. But yeah, if you say this is a "custom" top, then anything goes, I guess.
  20. A loooooooooong time ago!
  21. Well, because a canvas top would be the same color inside and out. Canvas doesn't have two different colors on two sides.
  22. Jim, the advancements in medical technology recently are amazing. You will be ok. I know you're scared... that's a perfectly normal human reaction. But you will be ok. Let the docs and today's modern medical treatments work their magic.
