  1. Yep. It pays to shop online!
  2. I like it. Two small suggestions: I think the rear bumper guards should be flat black, and I think the exhaust ends should be angled (just a personal preference)... but overall, cool! Nice engine detail, the air filter looks really good.
  3. http://www.amazon.co...t/dp/B00398ADXO Kit plus S/H included... 26 bucks.
  4. According to Tower Hobbies, MSRP is $28.99.
  5. You're not going to find a model company that takes the input of their customers more seriously than Moebius does. They not only listen to their customers, they act on comments and criticisms and work to make their products even better. I don't think there's a more "user friendly" model company than Moebius.
  6. Well, it's all already been said, but I have to throw in my 2ยข. Very nicely done!
  7. Rob, a little friendly debate never hurt anyone.
  8. Self-stick saran wrap. Forgot the brand name. Would it stick to bare wood? Might have to paint the inside of the booth with gloss paint first.
  9. If I locked every thread where we had different opinions there would hardly be any threads left! I don't see anything said here so far that would earn this thread a lockdown.
  10. That's your right. But you don't have right to break that law. If you feel a law is ridiculous, work to change it. Write your local representative. Start a petition. But don't just complain about it, because that's not going to get you anywhere.
  11. If anyone is at fault here, it's not the K-mart clerk who was doing his job... it"s the clerk at the other store who illegally sold spray paint to a minor.
  12. The law has no way of knowing who the "good people" are and who the lawbreakers are.
  13. Austin says the clerk wasn't very nice. We don't know what the clerk actually did, do we? You are assuming that what Austin says is exactly how it happened, but the fact is, you don't know that. And your second point is absurd. Yes, a kid who wants to break the law will reak the law. So your answer is, we get rid of all the laws? Since a person who wants to steal a car will steal a car, we make stealing cars legal?
  14. A customer who was trying to buy something that he could not legally buy. And I'm not sure what you mean by the clerk having no right to treat him the way he did. The original post: Today I stoped my my local K-Mart to pick up some sears quick and easy enamal primer.I got a can and was checking out when they guy behind the counter said that I had to have an adult with me to by the paint because he wasn't going to sell it to a child,He also wasn't very nice about it either.I asked why and intead of calling it spay paint he said it was an inhalent,I told him that I build model cars and need that primer to get my paint to stick to my cars,I also offerd to show him a picture of one of my models. He then told me to come to the store next time with adult supervision and then I said to him,"Keep the can,I will buy products elsewhere where I am a customer,Not a child".I plan on never steping into that K-Mart again,They couldn't have one of my hard earned penny's if they paid me.Not five minutes later I bought two cans of the same stuff from a Roses down the street where I was refered to as sir.I told then thankyou and that I will be back for more primer soon. Not sure I see that the clerk did anything wrong here.
  15. What???!!! Nothing is over until we decide it is!
  16. Spectacular!
  17. I'm surprised to see such a negative response to this kit, given how well Moebius has done with their new Hornet kit.
  18. Don't know about this particular "system," but DupliColor straight out of their cans is a pretty great paint. I use it all the time.
  19. Even the best laws can't protect morons from themselves.
  20. Cool project. I like it, something a little different from the everyday Willys we always see.
  21. Christian, you can argue all day long whether it's fair or not to ban anyone under 18 from buying spray paint... but that's not going to change the law. True, the law also bans those under 18 who have no intention of misusing the product from buying it, but I'm sure the thinking behind the law is to try and prevent that misuse before it happens, instead of dealing with the trouble and expense of cleaning up the mess (teens getting high and vandalized property) after it happens. Overall, there's probably more good than harm done by the law. And besides, anyone under 18 who simply wants to paint a model car can always have an adult or parent buy it for them.
  22. The whole point of doing the "upside-down" spray thing is to clear the siphon tube (and nozzle) of paint (as you know). A small can has a shorter siphon tube, so it takes less time (and less paint) to blow it clean. On big cans (Rustoleum size), the tube is a lot longer and has a lot more paint in it. I've tried clearing big cans that way and it takes a good 3-4-5 seconds or more for all the paint in the tube to be sprayed out. Given the fact that when you use a spray can you're already basically blowing the vast majority of the paint right past the part and into the air, using up even more by doing the upside-down routine doesn't leave all that much paint in the can to actually cover the stuff you're painting!
  23. Like everything else, I'd bet they're going cheap on the cans, probably using a thinner metal than what they used to use, to save a few cents per can. Thinner metal means a weaker bottom, and a weaker bottom means it takes less presure to blow it out.
