  1. It might be too late in this case, but for anyone else planning on building this kit, I suggest you ream out the holes in the three pipes behind the canopy to get the walls of the pipes closer to a scale thickness... and then paint the insides with flat black.
  2. I'm guessing that he made Alfred do that...
  3. If you're going to tell someone the name of the color you used, the least you can do is get the name right... and not blame it on your phone.
  4. I think the very first photo John posted will give you the answer...
  5. Yeah, apparently he thought it would be fun to mess with me. He hasn't been seen here since...
  6. I'd add a few to that list. Starting with research. How to do a google image search for reference photos. You'd be surprised how many people don't make use of that tool, or don't even know how to do a google search. Also, what about how to work with aftermarket pieces like resin and photoetched parts? I don't think "Suspension Modifications" needs to be a category. But I do think there would need to be a category that covers basic body modifications like chopping tops, using putty and fillers, etc.
  7. Krylon is the brand name. Not sure if its available in the UK. BTW... it's "Saddle" not "Sadel"...
  8. Another long dead topic bumped to the top??? Why???
  9. Looks like this one was too hard! Only 4 people got it right. The car is a 1947-48 Isotta Fraschini 8C Monterosa. It was the end of the line for the Isotta Fraschini make... after this "last gasp" they packed it in as far as cars go. Who got it right: modelmartin maltsr Ryan S. Badluck 13 That's all, folks! Thanks to Mike McElligott for the photo... if this one was too hard you can blame him!
  10. You were a much more sophisticated kid than I was... I loved the show! And I never even recognized the camp level until years later.
  11. Hugh, I don't mean that it can't work.... what I mean is if it will work, it would need a full-time moderator. We can't just throw everyone's posts into the mix and hope for the best... that would be a huge mess. We would need a person who was willing to keep things organized.
  12. Yes, Skip and Mike, there are different ways this could go. But regardless of how we did it, if it's to be a helpful and useful asset it would need a "full-time" moderator to keep things on track; otherwise it would turn into a useless mess in about a day. I guarantee it.
  13. A good idea at first glance. But if you think about it, a few issues come up: Let's take a hypothetical example. Let's say we do add a new forum section, a knowledge base called "Back to Basics" or "Modeling Basics" or whatever. Who decides what categories we break that down into? Who is going to write the text? Will it be open to anyone who wants to post? If so, we'll obviously get conflicting advice (even bad advice or flat-out wrong advice)... who is going to stay on top of that and make sure all of the content is correct? Who will be the ultimate judge as to what's the "correct" information? Who is going to edit out duplicate/bad/wrong information? As you can see, if this was actually going to be a helpful source of information, it can't just be a random collection of whatever everybody wants to post. It would need to be kept on top of, organized and edited on an ongoing basis. I don't have the time to do that. Gregg doesn't, either. So who would be the "moderator" of that section?
  14. You know what your problem is, John? You're such a sloooooooooow builder....
  15. Oh, that Wingrove... what a showoff!
  16. That was my guess, too. Sounds logical, I'll go with that!
  17. Looks Bat-tastic so far...
  18. Remember how sometimes Alfred had to play Batman in certain circumstances? And nobody ever seemed to notice that "Batman" suddenly had a gray moustache???
  19. Yeah, something like that...
  20. Didn't Batman and Robin go through that special start-up sequence... "batteries to turbine... turbine to speed..."
  21. I just found it in one of the cutaways you sent me: Looks like it actuates an arm attached to the front brakes (I assume this car had mechanical brakes and not hydraulic ones). But if that is the front brake rod, why does it originate so far towards the back of the car? Far behind where the brake pedal is...
  22. Ok, professor... I used the term "jet" engine as a generic term for a turbine engine. Most jets are powered by turbofan engines, or "jet" engines (yes, a pure "jet engine" works differently).
  23. I did. But that doesn't help me here...
