  1. Are you talking about keeping it clean while in storage, or keeping it clean on display? If you mean on display, there are companies that make custom sized plex or tempered glass display cases (for model ships). Not cheap, but very classy looking if the diorama is worth the $$$ to you to display it that way.
  2. Bunker Hill, IL is about 20 miles northeast of St. Louis.
  3. Well, you've already gotten the bad news... Even if by some miracle you managed to glue the roof together perfectly from the inside (which is almost impossible), you'd still see the crack. There's no way to make it disappear without major bodywork, including repainting. About the only way that's even possible to save this without a repaint is to glue the crack together absolutely as perfectly as you can, then lightly sand the crack on the outside, mask off the rest of the body and spray on a "vinyl roof."
  4. When I was a kid, that was a normal part of the building process! My friends and I would build the models, then "crash and burn"... Oh, to be 12 again!
  5. What's that supposed to mean?
  6. From what I've read, you can use any gloss enamel as a base for shiny chrome Alclad; it doesn't necessarily have to be their brand.

  8. Is an Alclad finish fragile? Will touching it mess up the "chrome" effect? Can you (should you?) clear-coat it?
  9. ComEd said over 800,000 people lost power in the storm, the biggest power outage here ever! About half a million still don't have it back yet.
  10. If your hobby is causing you stress... you're obviously not doing it right!
  11. If I get to a point where things are not working the way I want them to, I just stop and leave it alone for a while. It's a hobby... it's supposed to be fun, not a hassle. Remember?
  12. Not ridiculously high expectations... more like impossible expectations.
  13. I'll bet you can handle it.
  14. Remember... don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 2008 Volga Siber
  15. Thanks, Jeff! I try!
  16. Nice... but why did you leave the chrome side trim in place and paint over it???
  17. Very nice traditional "old school" look.
  18. Well, it's about freakin' time! OK people... so now we have one place for all of our questions and answers... let's try to pay attention and post in the correct place! I'm tired of moving posts!!! That's one small step for Gregg... one giant leap for the rest of us! (Sorry Neal Armstrong... )
  19. The Audi is obviously a nice car... but that "French Beetle" is too cool! Vive la France!
  20. I agree with Ron... round out the rear wheelwells. And also... congratulations on realizing that a scale model car does not have to have a plastic body! (too many other people seem to think so. )
  21. No need to be sorry... you didn't do anything wrong!
  22. Shouldn't that rear glass have been installed from the inside???
  23. That's why I said that Gregg worded the rule wrong!
  24. I never knew the German AF flew Russian planes!
