  1. And while I'm reminiscing... my mom's cousin's son had a '65 Impala in "Evening Orchid" with the white interior. I thought that was just about the coolest looking car I had ever seen! Never got to ride in it... but I did get to touch it!
  2. My mom's cousin and her husband had a '62 300. They lived downstate, and my parents and I would visit them in the summer. I remember to this day riding in that car... it had that cool dashboard where the gauges kind of "glowed" and they were all under a big glass dome. Very futuristic! And the leather interior smelled great!
  3. I'm sure the plastic cutter works, but you can save yourself a few bucks by using a razor saw to make your cuts, and if you need to cut curves, scribing with the back side of your X-acto blade will do the job. As far as the weathering products... they would work on a model car just the same as they would work on a model train! After all, the product doesn't know what it's being applied to! If it works on a model train, it'll work on a model car. The "Age it Easy" stuff is a fine product, I'm sure... but I bet you could get the same effect for a lot less $$$ by simply using a black wash (thinned flat black paint).
  4. G, I am so jealous. I'd love to be in Vegas or some similar climate right now. You can take this dang midwestern heat and humidity, I have no use for it!
  5. Beautiful! All thumbs way up! But why Duplicolor paint and Rustoleum clear? Why not stick with Duplicolor all the way? Just curious... BTW... is that thin side trim BMF? It's so clean and precise... wondering how you got such a great effect. Oh, one last thing. Engine shots?
  6. Well, turns out we missed the record today. It was "only" 100 at the lakefront (the record for this date is 101). Dang! So close! The good news (for me at least) is that this is all heading east in the next few days. So all of you guys east of Chicago... here it comes!
  7. Yeah, Romell... but it's a "dry heat"... Like they say... It's not the heat... it's the humidity! Today was one of those days where you can literally sit still and not move a muscle... and start sweating! And tomorrow is supposed to be worse...
  8. Yeah, a bazillion degrees and they close the beaches because the lifeguards said they can't see the swimmers through the fog!
  9. Ok, as usual, just superb! But what is it with you and Super 7s???
  10. Wussy right back atcha. 106 and 10% humidity. That's kid's stuff. I've been to Vegas several times... 100 degrees plus and you don't even break a sweat in that dry desert air. Try 95 degrees and 70% humidity and see how long you last!
  11. Sorry... a good photo of a medieval iron maiden isn't exactly easy to find!
  12. It's been in the 90s for days here, and no rain... my lawn is a lovely shade of tan! Tomorrow the forecast is 98. When you factor in the humidity, the "heat index" (what it feels like) will be 110. Sheesh!
  13. Wow! Beautiful! What a find! How (and where) did you find it?
  14. I'm not talking about that cheesy '80s hair band... I mean the original iron maiden...
  15. Maybe he needs a session in the Iron Maiden...
  16. If this falls under the heading of "None of my Business" I understand, but I'm curious... Why did Moebius strike a deal with MK to do the Flock version? Why not A: Release the Flock version yourselves as an "alternate" kit, or... B: Include the decals and parts for the Flock version in the kit itself and market it as a 2 'n 1? Is the "guaranteed sales" that MK's order is providing a factor? Again, if this is info that you don't want to address publicly, I totally understand.
  17. I really have to wonder about people sometimes...
  18. Are you kidding??? This post is several years old, and the answer was already given...
  19. Well, remember... I'm just guessing on the color! Here's another one...
  20. Is this closer to reality?
  21. I'm pretty sure I read that it's being manufactured in China.
  22. Man, that is so sharp and clean! Very nice!
  23. I think you can only delete your own topic as long as nobody has replied to it.
