  1. So get a loan for $2500, buy the car, resell it, pay back the loan and pocket the difference!
  2. Final vote: 30 REAL, 25 MODEL. Which means I gotcha!!! It's a MODEL! Specifically, a 1/10 scale model of a 1923 Voisin Laboratoire C6, a strange-looking car that actually ran at LeMans that year. Pretty much all Voisins were weird cars, this one is no exception! Auto ID Quiz coming MONDAY!
  3. Believe it or not, Raquel Welch will be 70 in September!
  4. I built this without the Paul Koo CD. Live and learn, I guess!!!
  5. I have one RR chassis assembled, and another RR kit still in the box, but first I have to finally put the finishing touches on my Mercedes. It's 99.999% finished but I kinda stalled out on it for some reason...
  6. If you're in there all by yourself... you're not multitasking...
  7. The Green Hornet had one in black, too...
  8. And you can fool some of the people all of the time... etc...
  9. ok, sometimes I look down near the bottom of the page, below the list of members currently online, and I see that there's ONE person in the chat room. And I have to wonder... how does a chat room with one person in it work??? And even better question: why is that one person there???
  10. Just my luck they sell it 10 minutes before I get there!
  11. If it wasn't so far from home, I'd almost be tempted to go buy it myself! Only 72,000 miles on it! It's practically new!
  12. Chuck, I think you're just jealous that Harold saw this one first! Heck, if I knew Harold better I'd send him the 2500 bucks myself, just to get his smiling face behind the wheel of that baby!
  13. It's strange... I've talked to several real-life mechanics, as well as gotten lots of responses from you guys here... and I've had answers all over the place! Some guys I talked to with years of experience as mechanics swear by an aftermarket CAI setup, and told me it's one of the best "bang for the buck" mods you can make (along with a pair of hi-flow mufflers). Other guys (like Dave here) with years of experience say the exact opposite... that they're basically a waste of time and have little to no effect. A very wide range of opinions, for sure. I'm more confused now than before I asked the question!!!
  14. And a few sandbags in the trunk for "traction?" Yeah... when it cost about 3 bucks to fill the tank...
  15. You don't buy a car like that for the fuel economy... And you wouldn't use it as your daily driver anyway. (At least I assume he wouldn't!)
  16. $2,500???!!! Beg, borrow, ask every relative... find the money to buy that car before it's gone!!!
  17. Yeah, I figured. Open up the front end and you have to let it out the back end just as much...
  18. Nick, I have one suggestion for you: stop brush painting the chrome trim and start using BMF. It'll take a little practice, but believe me... you will get way better results with BMF than with brush painting the trim.
  19. Guys, I'm looking into adding a cold air intake to my Mustang. I don't want to go all out, so intakes that would need an engine computer retune are out... I want bolt-on and go. I'm leaning towards a BBK unit. Anyone with any solid info, experience, recommendations, etc., please shoot me a PM or email me at harrypri@att.net. This is really off-topic and I don't want to clog up the forum with my personal topics, but I'm posting this here because I do know there are plenty of real gearheads here that would have good, solid info–so if you fall into that category, please give me your honest opinions. Thanks! BTW... Agent 47 mirrors are installed, sequential taillights/turn signals/stoplight wiring harnesses came yesterday!
  20. Sounds like the TDR train is rolling along nicely and picking up steam...
  21. No interest in MOPAR???!!! I think they have meds now to cure that problem... Jeff, I've never seen that kit built any better. Spectacular! PS to Skip: What happened to Hello Kitty???
  22. Real or model? (This one would have been good for Auto ID Quiz, too!) The answer: MODEL!
  23. You could use an index card or some thin cardboard and make a box shaped like a battery. Caps and terminals could be thin slices of solder or copper wire, terminal connectors also cut out of thin cardboard or an index card.
  24. Wow! All the comforts of home... tape recorder, stove, ironing board, phone, wet bar... and uh... "smoking device"...
