  1. Is this a metal kit?
  2. I think the top needs a good chop. It's awfully tall on the stock truck, and a lowered roofline might look cool. Also how about exhaust stacks like the Dodge Little Red Truck?
  3. Absolutely, they'll stick to chrome. As said, as long as it's a smooth shiny surface, they'll stick.
  4. Only one correct answer so far.
  5. I posted the poll as soon as I got the idea. I know Sunday isn't a good time for a poll, lots of people don't check the site on Sunday... but the last time I checked the poll it was about 2 to 1 in favor of the ID Quiz. I ran the ID Quiz today and we'll see what sort of response it gets. If people like it, it'll stay, and if not, I'll dump it. But let's see how this first one goes.
  6. I've posted my work here many times. So where's yours?
  7. Ok... it's a new week, so we're going to try a new game. Don't worry...ROM isn't going away, but I thought I would alternate with Auto ID Quiz. One week ROM, the next Auto ID Quiz, etc. Anyway, here's how Auto ID Quiz works. It's very simple: I post a photo, and you tell me what it is. You have to tell me the year, make and model to get credit for a "right" answer. The rules are really simple: Most importantly, DO NOT post your answer here, and DO NOT post any clues or hints here... that would obviously ruin the game for everyone else. Instead, email me your answer to harrypri@att.net. On Friday I will reveal the answer, along with a list of everyone who got it right. I won't alter the photos in any way except to block out any logos, emblems or scripts that would give away the answer. And I might post a hint or two as the week goes on, depending on how many of you are getting the answer (or are not getting it!) Remember, email me your answer to harrypri@att.net. Put "Auto ID" in the header and include your screen name somewhere in the email so I'll know who you are! On Friday I'll tell everyone who got it right. Ok, got all that? Then let's go. Tell me... What is it? The answer Friday! The answer: 1968 Chrysler GTX (Brazil)
  8. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know...
  9. "Tips, Tricks and Ideas" is now "Tips, Tricks and Tutorials." So now we have a definite place for any and all tutorials to be posted. Get busy!
  10. Art Anderson? Come quick... we need you!
  11. I've seen photos of early T's with white tires and also black ones. What's the story? White tires in certain years only?
  12. We're gonna party like it's 1999...
  13. Wow, what a battleship!!! I have a '67 Impala in my garage, so I know how huge these cars are in real life!
  14. Then you're the guy who sold me a Pocher Fiat once. At least I think that was you... I wish there was a 1/8 T kit available... I'd love to build one.
  15. Thanks, Brian, and yeah, I figured I'd throw in a little history when I reveal the answer. I think this will be fun.
  16. Hey Syd... are you the same Syd from the big scale forum? That kit looks like a great starting point for some serious detailing. No up-top included?
  17. Both? No way!!! You're right, it's a matter of the time to do it, which I don't have. But I figured I'd alternate, to change things up a bit week to week. And it would make it a lot easier for me if I only have to find a good ROM photo every other week!
  18. You can glue it together and polish it, but you'll never be able to make the crack invisible. Best bet is to make a new piece. If it's flat, it's very easy to cut a new piece from clear acetate sheet using the old piece as a template. You can also use the acetate if the glass has a curve to it, but it won't work for compound curves.
  19. It would be all years, all countries, not just classics. Could be any car from any year from anywhere... But it would be production cars only... no race cars or concept cars, only cars that were actually built in quantity and for sale to the public.
  20. Wouldn't tutorials go in the Tips, Tricks and Ideas section? Maybe we should rename it "Tips, Tricks and Tutorials?"
  21. Way back when, over on that "other forum," before it all got deleted, we used to do Real or Model, and another feature called "Auto ID Quiz." The object was very simple: Every week a photo of a car was posted, and people had to identify the car–year, make and model. You would email in your answer, not post it, and at the end of the week a list was posted of all those people who got it right. I'm thinking of bringing the "Auto ID Quiz" back... alternating with ROM every other week; so one week ROM, the next week Auto ID Quiz, etc. Anyone interested in this?
  22. Bill, that's really cool! I like the red/black color scheme. Seeing your model makes me want to buy one myself!
  23. Wow! Looks like you need to be wearing your hard hat before you enter this thread... So anyway... now that all the opinions pro and con have been stated... how about a few photos of some built examples? Anyone out there (besides Billy) have one to show?
