  1. Do hookers and coke fall under the category of "expenses?"
  2. I don't get it. Is this a post of a finished model "under glass?" An ebay glue bomb? Or what?
  3. Very nice!
  4. Exactly. You're lending the government a loan at zero interest. Not my idea of a good deal.
  5. Very nice, Tommy!
  6. Man, that car is so ugly it's cool! Seriously, though... beautiful model. I wish I had one.
  7. Uncle Sam must love you!
  8. Bill, love that '57 Dodge PU!
  9. Love those woodies, Cliff. Here's another... 1942 Chrysler T&C. Beautiful model in jet black.
  10. No, they forgot those!
  11. But if you had invested that couple hundred, at the end of the year you would have been ahead. Instead, you basically loaned the government money.
  12. There is a limit, but I'm not sure what it is. Ten, maybe? But like Ray says, just break up the photos into several separate posts.
  13. Yeah, AmericanMuscle.com (a Mustang aftermarket place) has all sorts of electronic upgrades available for Mustangs. I'm sure they're also available for all other makes of cars.
  14. If you're getting a refund, that means you're being overtaxed throughout the year... instead of you keeping your money, Uncle Sam is taking it and investing it throughout the year, instead of you keeping it and investing it on your behalf... then you get a "refund" because the government was taking too much from you throughout the year. My CPA told me that at tax time, the closer you are to "0" when it comes to how much you owe/how much you get back, the better.
  15. Yeah, I guess that's the way it works. I trust my investment guy/CPA... I'm sure he knows what he's doing. I was just flabbergasted when it turned out I owed cap gains taxes on an account that had lost value overall.
  16. Post your stuff wherever it belongs. We have various different areas... for cars, for trucks, for motorcycles and other models. Just scroll down and take a look at the various forums, and post your models wherever they would be most appropriate.
  17. You must have misplaced them, not must of... "must of" doesn't mean anything. Your English 101 lesson for the day.
  18. The way it was explained to me, even though the account as a whole lost value, there were certain segments of it that actually increased in value... so I owe cap gains tax on the parts of the account that grew. Makes no sense to me at all.
  19. OK, I checked. Turns out that 2 of the 3 accounts I talked about are IRAs, the 3rd one (the one I am being taxed on for capital gains) is not a retirement account, but simply an investment account. But still, to have to pay tax on "gains" I didn't actually see, on an account that actually lost value in 2015, seems unfair to me.
  20. Could have been a re-sealed kit and you never even knew it.
  21. Nice model!
  22. Oh ok... now I get it. BTW... nice model, Bob!
  23. I don't get it. Are we talking about the same PB? Because I've been using it for many years and have never had a problem. If I can use PB without a problem, but PB causes you endless problems, that to me suggests that the problem isn't PB. Because if PB was the problem, both of us would be having the same issues. Maybe your problems are based on using an out of date web browser that can't handle PB? Just a thought.
  24. You and me both.
