  1. Yes, but Brave Belt went nowhere. Total flop. But once they became BTO, they made it big.
  2. I see the pic. But I assumed it was a link to a video?
  3. Link doesn't work.
  4. I'm not trying to shoot down your idea... just wondering what you see as the benefit, because honestly, I can't see any.
  5. Dunno... but I use the same exact thingie as in the right side of your photo...
  6. He starred in the TV show "It's Garry Shandling's Show," and after that, the "Larry Sanders Show" on Showtime. Plus he was a standup comic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg7fis-UY-s
  7. Those are pretty cool!
  8. Yes, "culture shock" for sure! A great example is ABBA. They were huge in Europe, even big in Australia. But they never really made it big here in the States. I think "Dancing Queen" was their one and only US #1, yet they sold a bazilion albums worldwide. In fact I'm pretty sure they are among the very top 2-3-4 best selling bands ever as far as millions of records sold. Just never quite made "super stardom" here.
  9. Well, I have to admit I didn't "do the math,"... but I'll take your word for it!
  10. Several bands in your list I've never heard of. I guess they didn't (or don't) get much airplay here in the States.
  11. Randy Bachman left Guess Who in 1971, at the height of their success (go figure!).... hooked up with bassist Fred Turner, and formed a new Canadian band, Bachman-Turner Overdrive (the "Overdrive" part coming from the trucking magazine "Overdrive"). BTO went on to be as successful, if not more so, than Guess Who. One of the great trucking songs of all time, with Fred Turner on vocals...
  12. You have your timeline confused. "Wheatfield Soul" was the album before "Canned Wheat" (which included my favorite GW song, Laughing), which was the album before "American Woman," which was their big US breakout hit album in 1970.
  13. You nasty boy!
  14. Gordon Lightfoot is an all-time great! But Joni is no slouch...
  15. Sorry Tom... but I have never liked "These Eyes." There are a whole lot of Guess Who songs I do like... like No Time (like it a lot), American Woman, Share the Land, No Sugar Tonight, Undun... etc. But "These Eyes" ain't one of 'em! In fact, I find Burton Cummings very annoying, actually, but I put up with him because some of the songs are just that good. But not "These Eyes."
  16. Onomasticon?
  17. Yeah, I've built several of those motorized kits...like this one... But I left out the motorized parts, though. I'll never understand the Japanese fascination for motorizing a scale model car.
  18. Teacher to misbehaving student: This is the fifth day in a row this week that I've had to keep you after class for misbehaving! What do you have to say for yourself? Misbehaving student: I'm sure glad it's Friday!
  19. Ok... first of all, before my time. Second, model airplanes have traditionally been sold as models that you build and then actually fly–along with their static plastic cousins meant for display only. But I don't remember model cars ever having been sold specifically as a toy meant to be played with (aside from those very early Gowland pull toys back in the '40s or early '50s). These "Build and Play" kits are the first time since model cars became a popular hobby back in the '60s that they are being sold specifically as toys meant to be rolled around on the floor rather than scale models meant for display... lookie, no touchie.
  20. Cool! I like the concept, love the weathered look. Well done... A few observations, though. The thickness of the exhaust pipe is way out of scale, much too thick. You should have drilled it out to get the thickness closer to scale. The huge sink mark on the air cleaner should have been filled. Looks to me like the roll cage is much too low... only a headless person could drive the car! And finally, the front brake calipers are magically floating in space... they aren't connected to anything! Same with the "magic floating" alternator. I only point out these things because it looks to me like you have quite a bit of talent... you just need to pay closer attention to the details, and your models will be that much better.
