  1. Right! Back then a driver was actually expected to turn around and look where he was going when backing up! My God, what a ridiculous expectation!
  2. Before the government began to tell the auto designers what they can and cannot do, that is. Can you imagine a car with a feature like this coming out today? Man, the ambulance chasers would have a field day!
  3. Bill... have you seen this one? Even more working features than the '57 Chevy.
  4. http://photobucket.com/mobile
  5. Just want to post one more. This 1956 Buick Riviera was the second-to-last DM model I ever got (the '48 Chevy was the last one). Check the detail on this model... things like weatherstripping detail around the doors and trunk, realistic, ptototypically-correct hood scissor hinges, detailed upholstery and trunk mat patterns, etc. Unfortunately one of the wipers fell off and is lost.
  6. Actually, viewing that model comes with a guided tour...
  7. Maybe so. But I have zero interest in competing against other people in an effort to find out whose model is "better" than the other. The whole thing just makes no sense to me. I build models because I enjoy the process, not in an effort to "beat" someone else. So yeah, I post my models here, and hope people enjoy looking at them. But as far as competing against other builders... I have no interest in that whatsoever.
  8. Yeah, but you guys also elected Stuart Smalley as you senator, so...
  9. First of all... welcome aboard, Jim! Second... what a way to say hello! That's really beautiful work.
  10. Vanocolate? Or is it Choconilla?
  11. I agree. Spinners would finish off the wheels nicely...
  12. Don't worry, Rich. The "dying in your 60s" thing only applies to celebrities. You're a nobody... you'll be around for a long while yet!
  13. I've been using nothing but PB since the early 2000s, and as of today am still only at 23% of allotted free space.
  14. Yep. Nothing screams "model" more than no mirrors. It really takes away from the realism. On the other hand, nice and clean... very sharp foil work!
  15. Just to be clear... you can go ad-free for 99 cents a month, not $99. I also use the free version of PB, but to tell you the truth the ads don't bother me in the least. I don't even notice them... I just don't pay any attention to them at all. But if those ads are helping to keep PB free for me, I say keep on running them. After all, they can run them, but they can't force me to pay any attention to them.
  16. Geez, this "celebrities dying in their sixties" trend is really getting out of hand. David Bowie... Glenn Frey... Garry Shandling... Patty Duke...
  17. It's like asking which is better, vanilla or chocolate ice cream. There is no answer, only personal preferences. Some people will swear by Fotki, some by Photobucket. For example, I have used only Photobucket for many years... never had a problem, and the interface is super easy and user friendly. Other people will tell you the exact same thing about Fotki. So who do you believe? The answer is... just pick one. They both work just fine (although PB is free).
  18. No. And there can never, and will never be.
  19. Wow, quite a cynical answer. Not going to try and defend the Cuban regime... I just thought it was a nice gesture for the Stones to play for free for people who had never before had the chance to see them live. And yes... they can still rock the house. And more power to them!
  20. I've never entered a model contest in my life. Never will.
  21. Yes they were! Which is why I saved all of mine...
  22. Check out the "Fleetline" script on the trunk lid...
