  1. Hi there, nice looking mixer.I like how the Italeri rims look when they are painted...Looks much better than the chrome on it. Will be a nice model when it´s finished...

  4. Hi there, while I´m working on my hobbyroom after the waterdamage I started with another truckproject I´ve thought about a long time. The base for the conversion was the Revell Kenworth W-900 Dumptruck.I shortened the hood, converted it into a needle nose, scratchbuilt the fenders andalso the flatbed.First I wanted to use the bed from the Ford C-600 Staketruck but it was too small and short. The bed was made from evergreen-profile and balsawood. The wheels came from an Italerie truck.Still a lot of work to do but my hobbyroom will be finished this weekend so I could spray some basecoat to this truck and the Pete COE. smaller and shorter hood first front fender the bed scratchbuilt exhaust from styrene tubing. Still needs a lot of scratchbuilding but things will go on.
  5. Tim, okay, so I have to buy them from KFS.....Sometimes the is a guy from Austria on ebay where you could get some kfs parts.....maybe this is also worth a try.I think I´ll have to look at.Thanks for the information.
  6. Hi there, after I had a break from about three weeks because my hobbyroom in the basement of our house runs full of water three weeks ago causing on a half an hour heavy rain and redoing all the floorcovering and painting hte walls, buying new furniture etc. I´m back in business and made some progress on my pete.Added some frame covering, made the pipes for the exhaust etc and started wireing the frame.I´ll add some more detailing soon and will shoot some new pictures where you could see the wireing. I´ll glue the exhaust late when I made some more details to it. More progress will follow,soon...I made the mounts for the new engine.I get it from the Autocar Dump Truck.....I think it will look right on the Pete. Cheers,Chris
  7. Hi there, Tim, You made again an awesome job on that. The KFS wheels are really great and I often thought about ordering some of those but they are a little bit expensive..Is there someone who is selling them from the USA?The changing from euro into british punds is very high... Cheers,Chris
  8. Hi there, that´s really a sweet looking Lowboy.Very nice work.Paint is also great. Cheers,Chris
  9. Hi Tim, yes,I´ll try to cast all those things needed for the 378...Lot of work and maybe it needs some more experience in resin casting but I´m sure it finally will work.... I´ll let you know how it´s going on. Cheers,Chris
  10. Hi there, I bought a lot of kits,Trucks and Cars on ebay...But there are not so much kits over here in Germany so most of my kits I buy in USA.....Pay with Paypal and never had any troubles to get the kits over here.... My ebayname is chrispi67. Tim,I´m trying to make a resin cast of the 378 front axle and springs etc and from the hood....Hope it will work.... Cheers,Chris
  11. Hi there, thanks for the compliments... @rottin1:For the new rivets I used Plastruct round rod .020" .First I marked the lines where the new rivets will be placed, then drilled small holes with the right diameter to the cab and glued small pieces of the rod into them. The next day I slightly sanded them to the right height...A lot of work but it was worth the three hours,I think. The Peterbilt Cabover was rereleased some time ago, so maybe you could find a cheaper one than the original issue. Cheers,Chris
  12. Hi, Nice looking conversion of your Kenworth and an cool looking lowboy.I think it will be an awesome built when it´s done. Keep up the good work,
  13. Hi Tim, This is an awesome build. An interesting combination. You´ve done a lot of work on it and it´s really great. Cheers,Chris
  14. Hi there, First let me thank you for your nice compliments and the tips.I made a little bit of progress to the Pete.Made some detailing to the cab and made a lot of new rivets from round plastruct round rod....I also added the bases for the sidemarkers etc.I made some sanding to the edges of the cab Tim mentioned.Cutted out the openings for the rear windows and made some new engine mounts.I still have to drill a hole to the roof for the aircleaner. Here are some new pictures: More progress, soon.
  15. Hi Tim, Thanks for the advice with the Pete Cab.I know the part with the exhaust but want to set it behind the cab. It´s looking good for me.Lol,for the Air cleaner there isn´t much place to set it to another location as to the rear inner corner of the cab.I have to change the interior as I have seen it on your "Miss Dolly" Pete. But I´ve never noticed that the roof corners and rear sidecorners were different from the peacemaker cab.So I have to do that with some more sanding.I´ve also sanded most of the rivets on the cab and have to do some new ones....I´ll take the pictures for reference. Thanks a lot for the tips. Cheers,Chris
  16. Hi there, I´ve just started with a new project.I´ve built a lot of cars the last time and now wanted to get back into truckmodeling. The base for this kit is the AMT Peterbilt 352 COE reissue.I bought a book from amazon named Peterbilt Trucks at Work 1939-1979.I found a picture of an old COE truck with single headligths and wanted to built soemthing like that. here is the original picture from the book. I started with cutting the cab down to an original 60 inch cab.Reworked the molded in steps and filled the holew for the headlights with some sheet,I also changed some other parts and sanded down the rivets on the 352.I have to make new ones from round stips...But this will be the last step before paint.I still have to cut out the rear windows. The frame was shortened.I´ll use some resin-wheels I casted by myself and will add some photoetched Peterbilt Logos.Still a lot of work to do but here are some first pictures I used a fine mesh for the cooler and will change the kit engine.I´ll use the 6 cyl. Cummins engine from an Kenworth K-123 COE for the Pete. I hope the Peterbilt guru Tim could give me some advice if I´m on the right way. Thanks for looking, Cheers,Chris
  17. Hi, Travis, that´s an very nice looking built.
  18. Hi there, thanks for the compliments. The rivets were made from thin plastruct profile cutted in very small pwieces and glued on.After the glue was dried I sanded them smooth. The hood catches where made from thin tubing and wire. This picture is a little bit closer:
  19. Hi there, I built this one some years ago.I converted an Revell W-900 into an needelnose KW.I used the shortened Dumpbox of the AMT gravel trailer.Made scratchbuilt hoodhinges from thin aluminiumsheet for the hood. Sorry for the bad pictures,I have to shoot some new ones next time outside while the weather here stays sunny....
  20. Hi there, here is a link to the W.I.P of the truck and trailer from my Truckmodelling Homepage: I think I have also a scan of my paperdrawing for that trailer. I could mail it to you if you want.I´m always happy if some of my builds were used for inspiration. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask.
  21. Hi there, again thanks for all the nice compliments on my chevy. Jaffa, the Tires came with this Kit: It´s an 1:25 scale DieCast Model with two sets of rims. Cheers,Chris
  22. Hi Tim, that one again turned out great. All of your models have those special Tim.touch......Great work.
  23. Hi there, Jerry for the elbows I used evergreen tube and cutted it in small pieces with 15 degree....the whole pipes where glued together from 17 pieces and then sanded and filled to get it smooth...I tried to heat the tube and get it round but it doesen´t work fine. Thanks for the compliments for my truck.....
  24. Hi there, thanks for all the nice compliments to my Chevy. @zeb: On that kit there is a very nice and good detailed wooden structure so it wasn´t hard to let it look like real wood.I used some different brown colors of Valejo colors.First I brushed a mid tone brown to it with a paintbrush and after it was dried I made some drybrushings with lighter and darker brown.....that´s all and I´m really love how it turned out..... I hope this helps,
  25. Hi there, when I builded my botton dump trailer some time back I first wanted to build a second trailer for it........but never made....I still have the drawings of it and maybe I´ll built a second one sometimes...... I think this one will be looking nice with a second trailer behind it. Thanks for the link with the reference pictures etc. Cheers,Chris
