  1. Quite unfair Christian. If they took politics out of racing it would almost always be better (take politics out of everything would suit me). There is a computer racing sim called GTL (Grand Touring Legends) that has '69 Vettes in it, the cars have paintable templates but no 3D model with the modification that you had. There are however some people that have made different modifications to the game cars, maybe someone could do your car, one name that comes to mind is a fellow named umma gumma (I think that is the correct spelling). If it at all interests you I could ask around. Bob
  2. Have you posted any pics on here that I might have missed? Elaborate? Only if you want to My family was originally from the Blackpool area, is that anywhere near you? Bob
  3. OK, 2 questions for Christian. Have you built a scale Vette of your 1:1? How/why were you banned? If I'm out of line just don't answer the 2nd query. Bob
  4. I'm following along Bill Bob
  5. I actually think some folks like Panteras... ...this guy had a hard time getting OUT of a cruise. Bob
  6. Since joining this site I have made some trades and these are what I have gotten so far... Bob
  7. Try this link... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52417&pid=595679&st=0&#entry595679 Bob
  8. Hi Michael. Nice work on the build, your Mom (and little brother) sure will be happy when it is done. This site only allows a small amount of space on it for member photos. As BOB mentioned above you will need to create an off-site account on Photobucket or some other free file hosting site then link from that site to post them here. Bob
  9. SCCeh Camaro SS RS... ...so I know the concept CAN work Get to it guys (me too)!!! Bob
  10. Wow, thanks all. Guess I have to finish it after all! Danny that sounds like a great idea (not the using my name part, lol), might I suggest SCCeh Build? I have been down this concept road before, this has been my 3rd SCCeh frustration build. I posted some of these pics before but here are my other 2 tries at this. SCCeh Cuda, now stripped but with replacement parts to do it again...
  11. I gotta say I like it! Haven't seen anything like this before. Bob
  12. Thanks for all the kind words Rob (Jantrix), what do you mean? It's got a Beretta nose, a Beretta tail, a Beretta greenhouse... There is a reason this build is just sitting now, also a reason it is subtitled FRUSTRATION, and Rob, your avatar holding up the sign "Stop in the name of humanity" is spot-on. The sum is not greater than all of the parts. There is no happy ending. I have lost the desire to finish this build. I could redo it (that seems to be my mobius opera randy lately). This really sucks. The good thing is it is only a model, I have had many real life things suck and this is miniscule. On to the next build! Bob
  13. So, my gerbil chewed up a battery charger adapter wire... Tune in next time when we hear our intrepid builder yell "DOOFUS!" and splatter blood all over his recharged, fuzzy tailed gerbil!!!
  14. Added strips to the front of the center section to better line up the front wheel openings...
  15. I looked after my pennies and my nickles and dimes looked after...getting me a can of primer. Hooray! Primer, primer, priiiiimer! Primer, primer, priiiimer!!! Ya ever notice primer hates gold paint?...
  16. Here I will give myself a pat on the back and remove 1 DOOFUS. To hold the middle sections of the upper and lower body parts together but allow them to be removable I used a piece of tubing and overlapped a slightly more than 1/2 next-size-up tube...
  17. No more primer? No more silver? No more gold? Ok, black it is... Lining up the "floating" tail lights... Black paint is a real sandpaper plugger...
  18. Gurlie clear nail polish sealer again...
  19. Had to use that "wood" filler again, also this pic shows the beginning of the "floating" tail lights... I just couldn't get the bumpers to work as removable units so I stuck them back on...
  20. I made tongue and groove strips to hold all the body parts together and added reinforcement to the rear bumper...
  21. Working on the rear spoiler. Cut a strip for the spoiler and also a stiffening strip. **WARNING**:DOOFUS! Frustration of my own doing (part 5) coming up. To make the stiffening strip, which had to match the curve profile of the new spoiler piece, I applied masking tape to a piece of styrene and marked out the "v"'s to cut, and cut them. Glued the stiffener to the new spoiler... ...added another strip over the stiffener... Do you know what happens when you apply glue to masking tape then sandwich it between 2 spoiler strips? It does not dry! Oh man, rip it all apart and do it again properly removing the tape this time.
  22. DOOFUS! Frustration of my own doing (part 4). The tires get in the way of pulling the front and rear off with horizontal tubing locators. Back to vertical tubes but this time plastic, also added a strip of styrene to the rear body section to better line up the wheel opening...
  23. Wow, my camera shows me things my naked eyes miss, look at all that stuff... Added straight vertical stripps to the bumper wheel openings... Squaring up the new wheel openings...
  24. Yes Steve, my hand was gold after painting lol. DOOFUS! Frustration of my own doing (part 3). Cutting off the bumpers again let the body spring up at the front and rear... Oh well, time to learn how to laminate... ...using the weight of a file to hold the new wheel openings where I wanted them... Snip, snip, here's what I git...
