  1. Another funny quirk about this kit is that has dual tanks. The front tank is incorrect for a Bronco.
  2. I head to Bangor on a fairly regular basis and I can tell you that there are unfortunately no hobby shops left. If you look in the Yellow Pages you will find listings for a couple but I've found the addresses listed and they've long since closed. I just headed down to Boston for my honeymoon back in August and the hobby shops along the way start in Portland. If you head as far south as Boston I can recommend a couple shops to check out. If you or your wife do end up in Portland, definitely check out Ray & Robin's Hobby Centre. They're in the same area as the mall but be careful, they close at either 5 or 5:30.
  3. I am both glad and saddened that I won't be here in Thompson, MB for the winter as there's a world-class winter testing centre here. I hear tell that you can see some interesting vehicles up here before they're released for sale.
  4. I keep an inventory of my kits in Excel. So far I only have for columns manufacturer, kit number (easier to track reissues), series (ex. Streetburner), title (## stock car), make, model, and year. I do like your system, my66s55, of keeping track of what condition its in, missing parts, etc. I think an overhaul of my inventory may be in order...
  5. What I want to know is what is hauled in that thing. Not a lot of volume there...
  6. This looks really cool! There's a water delivery company around these parts that still uses a Fleetstar.
  7. The Buick Regal GS comes with manual transmission standard. Automatic is an option.
  8. I'd just like to point out that out of the domestic manufacturers Ford is the only one that still owns themselves.
  9. I organize them primarily by manufacturer, with a couple of exceptions. I have a shelf for race cars (ie non-street), one for monster trucks and one for big rigs.
  10. I made a discovery tonight. The dashes in the pickups and the Blazer/Jimmy are slightly different. The pickup dash depicts a full trim level interior while the Blazer/Jimmy are a lower trim level. The Blazer/Jimmy dash has the speedometer in the left large opening while the right opening is the fuel gauge. The smaller set of four pods are I believe 'idiot lights'. The vent opening pattern is different and the passenger side of the dash has no emblem while the pickup dash does. In checking with my factory brochures the pickup seat appears to represent a Cheyenne or Silverado seat.
  11. My mistake. I should've known, considering I have three MPC cabs. I was thinking of the Monogram cabs...
  12. The only thing good about Revell's '78 C10 is the cab. The MPC cabs don't have the model badging on them. The Revell C10 is an abomination of a kit with the California stepside bed and the poor excuse for a front suspension...
  13. I believe that with Nissan and Infiniti there are no Nissan badges anywhere on the Infiniti. The engine may be the same but the cover will have Infiniti badging on it. I know that back in the Datsun days the engines would have Nissan stamped on the valve covers; maybe this go around they'll be stamped Datsun? Or, more likely, no identification on them at all. My fiancee's Pontiac G3 doesn't have anything Pontiac or Chev under the hood, just 'Ecotec'.
  14. That pickup is actually the Revell Datsun 720 pickup, the silver/red car is a Nova Pro/Street, and the 'silver 72 Chevy stepside' as you call it is actually an '87 F-150 flare side I've been working on... He hasn't touched any of his models in 10 years and needs to clear up some space in his house for his fiancee to move in. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time!
  15. It would be nice to have the option to use one bed or the other, but unfortunately they're different scales and don't match up at all. However, the parts are all available to build a GMC stepside and a Chevy wideside in both scales.
  16. Seems like it might be easier to cut out the extra tank than to add the fuel caps.
  17. Thanks for all the kind words!
  18. My very, very generous friend decided to give me what's left of his stash... The stuff along the wall and in the upper left corner were already there... The LRW and Banshee are started and the '53 F-100 box is actually a started El Camino SS. In the big tote, the Bel-Air and the Pontiac are built and complete; the red GMC pickup is missing a rear fender and the Countach is a diecast. There are tons of tires, rims, and engines as well as lots of other fiddly bits in there. Going to take a while to sort. I also have yet to sort through the paints...
  19. ^I'm not sure if that plow setup was the norm or not; my dad has a Fisher plow from the '80s that was originally on this body style of truck that he had modified to fit his '89 and it mounts in front of the bumper. Mind you, his setup is a 'permanent' one: full hydraulic, with the pump being belt-driven by the engine. This kit comes with an electric-over-hydraulic setup. Also, come to think of it, in the late 80's-early 90's when I was growing up my dad plowed with a '78 Bronco and it, too, had the christmas tree in front of the plow.
  20. Quoted for truth
  21. This bed looks like it shares the same feature as the stepside: no fuel doors!
  22. The Ramcharger wheels are five-lug. Same as in one of the Bronco issues, actually. They have a different centrecap from the Jimmy/Blazer ones.
  23. My LHS released his June release list; still no GMC.
  24. They do indeed. The usual wagon wheels are triangle holes whereas these ones appear to be trapezoids...
