  1. Is this, by any chance, a modification of the S'cool Bus? I've been thinking about getting on simply to convert to a stock height school bus.
  2. I get the impression that most of their marketing efforts currently are devoted to getting the International ProStar to market. Once that hits the shelves we might start seeing more information about these.
  3. If this is true it will be the first time that I will literally buy a case of one model. This is my absolute favourite Ford truck of all time!
  4. Neat idea, but way too small and way underpowered.
  5. I think your best bed would be to pick a municipality that you wish to represent and look for historic vehicles from that municipality's emergency services. Or, if there is no municipal ambulance service, perhaps an organization? Around here ambulance service is provided by St. John Ambulance, which had some pretty basic graphics back in the day and would be easy to replicate.
  6. Here's an interesting subject and a little deviation from what I normally build... Oh yeah, and its 1:35 scale! The amount of detail in this kit is astounding, even for a 'curbside'. The kit is produced by a newcomer to the armour market, Meng. I picked this up as a door prize at my club's show back in May and I'm just now getting around to playing with it. Building this truck at this scale is difficult enough for me, someone used to 1:25 scale. I can only imagine trying to build a tank with individual photoetch track pieces...!
  7. Ah, see, that's why politics should either never be discussed on message boards or lock those threads away in a separate section where everything goes and everyone's on equal footing.
  8. What could you possibly do to get banned from the HAMB?

    What if...?

The Super Bee's openings are much taller than what you have depicted. An extension of the GTO's grille openings would probably work best. Lots of whittling to eliminate the stacked headlights... I may try this at some point.

    What if...?

Way to go, Harry. You made me pull out a 66 GTO and a 70 Super Bee and start figuring out where to cut/graft...
  11. I have the interior sorted out. Belvedere floor, panels, and dash; 330 seats, and; Color Me Gone roll bar. I haven't decided yet if I should put in a back seat; the Color Me Gone car has one but I would think that for drag racing you would want to eliminate that extra weight? I haven't started painting anything yet as I want to try out the Vallejo paint line that my LHS owner/club member/friend raves about. Might be a few days before I can get up to his shop to get some colours to try.
  12. I did a stint as an unloader at a Walmart in Whitecourt, AB. The shift was 4-12 and with a regular 53' trailer it took a team of three guys four to five hours to unload; the rest of the shift was moving the items out to the store floor. With these supercube trailers I can see either needing more unloaders or a longer unloading time...
  13. How about some different rolling stock? Rears are from AMT 33 Willys and fronts are from AMT/MK 69 GTO Funny Car.
  14. Oh, and for the mods: I wasn't entirely sure if this build should go here or in the Drag section. If I do a weekend warrior, would it stay here? A named car in the Drag section?
  15. With my massive stash of three 64 Dodge 330s, two Color Me Gones, and one 64 Plymouth Belvedere Paul Goldsmith stock car, I thought I would start mix-and-matching bits and pieces and come up with something interesting. I'm building a Belvedere drag car, not sure if it will be a weekend warrior or a pro car just yet. Rather than the new-for-64 426 Hemi I thought I would switch it up and build something a smaller, less-well-funded team could come up with. This car is sporting the 392 Hemi from the AMT 57 Chrysler 300C (which also donated its wheel covers). The four-speed stick is from the Belvedere. All the suspension pieces have come from a Color Me Gone kit, which also donated its wheels and will provide the roll bar as well. I'm going to use the bucket seats from the regular 64 Dodge 330 and the interior from the Belvedere.
  16. I purchased my wife a camera for Christmas but I've been using it as well. Its a Nikon 1 J1 and sure blows my previous Sony Cybershot out of the water. So far I have gotten some really good closeup shots with it but I haven't tried getting super close yet.
  17. I signed up with Picasa back when it was just an image hosting site and I have no issues with size limitations, ads, or linking to various websites. It seems to now be tied into Google+ but I think you can still sign up for just the image hosting. Its worth a try. I have close to 5GB of image storage.
  18. Works for me! A confirmation of dealing with them through Yahoo was all I was looking for.
  19. My mistake; there's a whole network of sites. My favourite are the Brazil and Argentina versions; lots of interesting variants there.
  20. Has anyone dealt with Lindberg for replacement parts lately? I sent a request in to them earlier in the year for a missing from from an F-150 kit and they were prompt in reply and sent me all four rims for that kit in the mail. The person I dealt with last time was the person listed on the website for customer contact and their email address used the processedplastic.com domain. I sent in another request the other day for a tire; I have three tires the same size and one that's bigger. I just received an email from someone claiming to be the manufacturer and they need my mailing address, but they're using a Yahoo email account. Does this seem odd to anyone else?
  21. If you can read/understand enough Spanish to get by, try the Mexican Mercado Libre site. Its basically the Central/South American version of eBay. Lots of stuff there.
  22. The Lightning engine was only ever a SOHC, and a 2-valve at that. I'm also hesitant to call the kit's engine a 5.4L; if it has coil-packs molded into the ends of the heads, its a 4.6L. I think the engine is the same as in the Harley Davidson kit; I'll look into that this evening...
  23. My space right now is rather long and narrow so its difficult to see everything... All told I have about 420 kits or so. I usually buy multiplies of kits that have several building options. So, I have 2 68 Chargers, 2 69 Darts, 2 70 Mustangs, 2 57 Black Widows, etc. I have one each of the various versions of the 69 Nova as well. I have every intention of building every one of those kits, it just might take me a while. The open/upside down boxes in the third picture are projects currently on the go, but with most of these kits you can grab any one of them off the shelf and chances are there's something started in there; some more than others. I have what I guess you could call modeler's ADD: I start one kit and then get an idea for something else so I start that one too and on and on...
  24. From my understanding the reason why you can't get a manual transmission in pickups anymore is due to emissions requirements. Newer, more stringent requirements are very difficult to meet with manual transmissions as the vehicle's emissions output varies greatly with drivers.
  25. I like to keep all my kit boxes. I've moved around so much in the past 10 years that every time I move I put the built models back in their original boxes. Yes, that means I have all those empty boxes from the built kits; they're stashed in my shed.
