I've got another 70's build done, from my dad's photo album. This was a fun build and my first attempt at weathering. (I've got lots of other pics of the progress over in "on the workbench" I'll get some better outdoor pics this weekend. with my lighting in the house and my camera i couldn't get the best quality pics.. especially interior pics. 1:1 And now the 1:25th version..

You'll be impressed with the way this kit goes together, i don't have one complaint on it yet! you going to build a stock one or modify it? the seat belts are 1/8" ribbon from walmart, from the crafts section.. works perfect with the Model car garage PE seat belt buckles. I painted on the vinyl top and used un thinned paint thru my airbrush to give it the texture. The BMF and flocking is from my LHS. -

Thanks guys for all the compliments, haha i don't have any PE keys/key chains, but i'll get some for other builds! I got the interior tub complete and i put some tamiya weathering mud on the drivers floorboard and pedals (i'll get a better pic of that) I also got a good part of the engine completed and i'm happy with how it turned out so far... I covered the gauges in tamiya clear to make it look like lenses. -

Thanks for all the compliments! I appreciate all the input on building models, if i can improve on something, that's great.. i won't get upset on comments/suggestions. I masked off the console, air brushed it tamiya brown acrylic (thinned, so it would spray smooth) then i hit it with some semi gloss tamiya acrylic unthinned and from far away to give it that spotted grain look. then i cleared it in alclad semi gloss clear, BMF'd it and added the other little details. I got the rear seat in and seat belts done tonight. this weekend i will hopefully have the dash and steering wheel complete. -

Thanks for the compliment and tip on the seatbelt position! I fixed it and painted the seatbelt buckles while i was at it. -

i"ll send you a PM. I got the console painted tonight. I tried replicating the firebird woodgrain, and i'm pretty happy with how it looks. I just have to add the clock decal and shifter once all the paint dries. Here's a better pic of it... i got the decal on as well as the shifter. tomorrow i'll give the floor a coat of flat black and then flock it. I'm not looking forward to detailing the dash on this car.. it's gonna be tricky with the woodgrain and BMF Chrome trim added around shifter. -

I got the door panels done (just need to flock the lower part) and the motor painted pontiac blue. -

I just used a very fine detail brush. Once i dip the brush in the paint i run it across something before using it for the small details.. pretty much dry brushing. Thanks everyone else for the compliments! I couldn't figure out the multi quote option so sorry for all the separate messages! -

Thanks for your offer, I think i'm gonna stick with the rims I've got, i just wanna track down some better rear tires with tread. -

Thanks, I used Bare Metal Foil. If you haven't tried it before, i recommend it! it looks 100x more realistic then painting the trim! -

Thanks for the compliment! I'll have a look at the local hobby shop to see it that model is there. I don't wanna use those slicks, and i don't have any other tires close to what i need. Thanks for the tip on the lug nuts, i'll do something so add a little contrast.. most likely a rust look. the wheel bearing dust cap looks to be painted black on this car... most likely the wheel was bolted on the car at the time and painted with a spray can. -

Thanks, i made this one look like it's been daily driven for 5-10 years.. Actually the rear rims i have in the pic are wider then the fronts, the pic doesn't really show it. I didn't wanna go as wide as the 69 charger ones, because this car appears to have narrower rims. which rims do you have? I got all the interior parts sprayed in duplicolor vinyl dye. -

I got the grill finished. I used liquid masking tape to mask off the outer bumper, so i could airbrush the charcoal on the grill shell, then i black washed between the headlights. This is how the grill is supposed to look like on the 68 firebird 400. -
