    I will be starting the chopped 49 Merc soon but want to add some curved side trim. I was thinking some small dia. plastic tubing/rod. Can anyone give me a better way to go ? Thanks

    Very happy for you that you can build again. I have been building for about 50 years and have built some of just about everything. When I got the Princeton ( my BIL was on it for a time) and saw the PE parts and the tiny crew I just about fainted. I made it through the build ok but I must admit it looked like a ghost ship because I could no way paint and add the crew. I think that ships are among the toughest kits to build and build well.

    I would love to have one of these in a stock kit. Much more easy to make a custom or modified from a stock than to take a custom and make it stock Of coarse a kit with options would be nice.

    I must agree. This is a very good forum. Just one problem at least for me. I can't help but wonder how much more building I could do if I didn't spend so much time here enjoying all the photos and comments.

    Not only is it 1/32 but you would have to do a lot of work to get it to look very good. Different wheels and tires would help.

    Scratch X may help you also. As one poster said Novus # 2 is pretty good and I use it often.

    I have had pretty good luck using JB Weld for minor custom changes when working on a die cast.
