Question for wooden ship builders. Is there a difference between a Batten bender and a plank bender ? My wife ordered me a kit that she liked and the site said a batten bender is required but so far I have not found one. Thanks

At Midway airport, going home !

So I’m still visiting my daughter here in Chicago . Since today was St. Patty’s day we had to go watch them dye the river green and walk around downtown . We walked about 8 miles and I have to tell you I never saw so many people and traffic and police in my life ! It was so hard to get around . All the food places were packed and noisy as long get out. Not something this 66 year old enjoys at all . However , spending the day with my wife and daughter was worth it .

I had been using my iPad to post pics here . There was a Apple update and now I can not transfer pics . A call to Apple resulted in them saying this site does not support the new upgrade . True ?? Any one else having a problem ?? Thanks

The other day my wife ad I were walking our daughter to the el here in Chicago . I clumsily tripped on one of the many uneven broken places on the sidewalk and did a face plant right there . Two days later and my knee still hurts . I guess I don’t heal as fast as I used to . Oh and it snowed here yesterday . That I liked !

Took the el downtown to have lunch with our daughter . Took the subway home . It was cold but we had a good time despite the weather .

Thanks for all the useful information guys . Can anyone point to any manufacture that would have kits best suited for a beginner ? I seem to remember I used to get a catalog from someone that had nothing but ship and boat kits but can’t recall who that was . I am really interested in trying my hand at this .

I was at a museum yesterday and they had several built ships that interested me . I know I could never get the results that I saw but wondered how difficult they really are . Wondering if I started with a simple kit if I could manage decent results . I guess I am asking those who have built them how much more work is involved over and above a plastic kit . Thanks

I had them both cremated but I did not save the ashes . This vet makes paw prints in a clay that air dries and snips a little fur as well . All in a nice case and box . No extra charge . Those I did take
