  1. Yes David, just what Rob has said. I am using Bleach White that I got at Autozone.
  2. Love those Mercs .
  3. What is the method you are using ?
  4. Great looking model. I like everything about it. Nice work !
  5. Thanks gents. I need to do some more research.
  6. Thanks for the advise guys.
  7. Perhaps not Rich but some of the guys here sure come awful close.
  8. Thanks guys. I'm not so sure of the outcome but will give it a good effort. It's swimming in the solution right now. I'm thinking red or silver .
  9. Why 4 different tires ? No spare is a bad idea IMO. You won't miss it till you need it.
  10. Although I would like kits to be less expensive than they are I really think they are worth the money. On a normal build I take 2 to 3 weeks to finish a kit. I don't always add the extra after market stuff. So if you factor in some paint and glue and other supplies say what 15 bucks per kit more or less you/I have about 40 bucks in a kit give or take. Say I do 2 kits per month. That figures out to roughly 80 bucks a month again, give or take. What other hobby can you do for only that much a month ? When I go shooting I burn up more money than that in a couple of hours in ammo. Plus I can't do that in the house ! Your costs may differ.
  11. Thanks guys. I will use my drill press and go slow and use a light touch.
  12. Thanks Ron. I know we are our own worst critics. Well, except for Harry ! : ) Just a joke !
  13. It's not my car but I think I would opt for the V6 over the turbo if I didn't want to pop for the 8 but thats just me.
  14. Thanks Lee.
  15. Always a pleasure to see another Cobra ! As most of the fellows here know I kinda, sorta, have a fondness for Cobra's. Keep er' goin' .
  16. Everything is right ! Have you been to the grocery store ? Yikes !
  17. 10 grand is for sure a great savings. Heck you can always pipe in the sound of a throaty V8, no ? : ) What is the HP for the V8 vrs the V6 vrs the turbo ?
  18. I am wondering if there is anything special I need to worry about when drilling a hole in resin. I have the Modelhaus Cheetah kit and want to drill out the gauges in the dash. I have worked with resin a few times but never drilled any. I know the resin is kind of brittle so thought I would ask first. Thanks.
  19. Well, I have decided to go ahead and start the Cheetah as my next project. I have been putting it off because I was/am worried about screwing it up. I very well may but it won't be building it's self so....... Tomorrow it will go in for a good soak for 24 hours or so. I have not decided on a color or if I will build and decal it as a car that raced back in the day. There are normally nice decals on ebay to replicate a couple versions. May just go with a single color without decals . Just don't know at this point. If anyone has any Goodyear tire decals that will fit this car I will find something to trade you.
  20. Tru dat ! : )
  21. Would you believe the seats in the real car were this shiny ? No ? Oh well, I must agree and should have shot them with some satin clear. I was rushing and made more than one error on this build. I did one thing I learned a long time ago not to do but did it anyway. That being I painted the trunk ( it is separate piece ) and hood at a different time than the body. Coats of paint differ and the color is off on those pieces. Still trying to build the perfect model. Ain't never going to happen. : )
  22. I really admire your building style. You build very nice clean well thought out models. You version looks much better than the one they stuck on the box. Well done 1
  23. Hey David. Is the the Foose version ? Did you leave off the chrome strip that attaches to the hood ? I just finished this kit and had a problem with the front grill and bumper assy. Did you ? Your car looks cool !
  24. The black one is very different. Looks sinister.
