Thought I'd get my 70's groove on and do a flower power tribute to the Manx. All the graphics are airbrushed on to some blingy metal-flake. Other than that I added some home made decals for the seat panels and scratch built an aluminium tube roll bar. Peace and love to all.

Another really cool model concept from Tom. Again there are some many versions of the real rod plus the clones it's hard to be authentic to the 1:1. Anyway spent a bit of time trying to get the wood shading looking nice of the coach body, after applying a couple of different colors I over sprayed it with clear yellow. Think I tweaked the back tires as well to better match the real rod. Added as much detail as I could some now hidden on the engine like a more realistic timing case and fuel pump, plumbed fuel system, wired engine. Also added the rope to the chrome side rails. Old cowboy Tex skeleton got a few shades of War Hammer paints then I gave him a dusting to look like he'd been on the trail for a while. Drilled out all his joints and joined them back together with very thin solder so I could pose him in the driving position.

As a kid I had one of the original Hot Wheels redline diecasts which I played with till it was just plain worn out. So as part of my show rod theme of builds this year it was on the list to do. Like a lot of the show rods of that era there are many versions so it's hard to overly authentic. My aim was to enhance the kit to be a better representation of the real car when the Ford engine was shoe-horned in. Paint is ModelMaster metallic red with an overlay of candy red with gold flake. The body insert sides were heavily re-worked and painted pearl white. New exhaust side pipes were fashioned from a piece of car antenna. The engine is wired and pulleys enhanced with a separate fan belt. Interior was painted in vinyl spray white and then the black panels hand painted.

This model has been on my to do list for some time and it was a great project. Really nice to build. I spent a lot of time filling in the panel joins and getting the body as sharp as possible. The paint is some really cool blue metallic nail polish and the interior was painted in white vinyl spray. All the trim buttons were painted chrome and I added a still from the Munsters TV show to the car's TV screen. Under the bonnet is all stock except I separated the pulleys, machined grooves in them and added a more realistic fan belt.

Yep another of my childhood hero kits I mean to say who can resist a skeleton driving some crazy hybrid dragster/hotrod. This build is very stock using nail polish for the pink, a bit of Alclad on the headers and WarHammer paints and washes on the skeleton and cow head.

Been on a bit of a show rod binge of late so here is my take on the Ice T. Fairly box stock but I amped up the paint by using a nail polish metallic yellow then a pearl clear and then fogged the edges with pearl white. Also lined the back with white velour, added wood texture decaling to cargo floor with chrome strips. Detailed the ice blocks with transparent blue and baking powder. I used different tires on the back and fixed up all the chrome with Alclad. Fuel tank caps are chrome press stud heads. Hollowed out the middle of the tunnel ram as well and added a nicer instrument panel from my parts stash.

I know this is a die-cast kit but thought it might be OK to post here. Thought I'd give this a little Dyno-Davo spin and create a fictitious car from the era. Kept the Irish theme in the paint but added some candies, pearls and bit of bling flake. The decals are hand made by applying the decal to BMF fist then cutting it out and applying to the body. Added a lot of extra detail and used the Hemi engine. Enjoy

Now I know this kit has is short falls but as a kid interested in drag cars and hot rods it was always one of my hero kits. So I thought now as an old f@#t why not build it. I added the correct 396 engine and tweaked the wheel tire combo, added an aluminium firewall and scratch built headers. Added a few extra decals and also changed the injection scoop to match the shape of the perspex hood scoop better. I spent plenty of time making the interior smicko only to have it hidden by the dark tinted glass. Whilst not true to the box art my version has definitely put a smile on my face now it's sitting in the display case. Any way hope you all like it.
